[Resolved]  Loomis Unit 1, Axis 40 Athlon Road, Alperton Hao 1Yj — ICC INT'L MOBILE DRAW

I have received a message on my mobile stating that my cell number has won GBP 500,000.
I went ahead and claimed for it and got a mail as follows.

ATTENTION:
Dear

I write to inform you that we have completely verified your claim and you have been approved to receive the cash grant. We have subsequently issued the bank draft in your name to the tune of Five hundred thousand Pounds (GBP 500,000.00). The bank draft can be encashed in any branch of HSBC Bank in your country of residence or any branch of HSBC Bank Worldwide. All you need to do upon receiving the bank draft is to present it to HSBC Bank together with your identification document (International Passport, national ID Card, Drivers License, etc as recognised in your country). Your fund can be paid into your HSBC account if you have an account with them, otherwise, you will be paid over the counter or you ask HSBC Bank to transfer to other bank where you have an account.

You are to make preparations to come to United Kingdom to pick your bank draft together with your certificate of winning. If you cannot come to United Kingdom within the next 10 days, then your prize and certificate of winning will be sent to you (through courier delivery with an insurance coverage) Do let us know if you are coming or you prefer us to send it to your address. Please, do inform us immediately for us to take immediate action towards it.

It is important to note that we cannot hand over your winning certificate and bank draft to any other person except you. Even if we are to send it through courier service, the parcel must be handed over to you as we need to have a personal contact with you or through our courier agent if you cannot come.Do write us immediately on your decision.

Your sincerely,
Sir.Anderson Bill

It is a fake email/sms from a scammer. Google, Yahoo, Rediff etc dont run such lotteries. You can receive such an email/sms named from anyone and you may even get a link to some fake lottery or lucky draw website. But its all a part of the scam to take your credit card number or charge you in some way or force you to send them a payment. Once they receive the payment its impossible to track down. By the way I would suggest you do not use gmail as it keeps all the data from its users though its deleted and it could be used against you anywhere. Be careful where you give out your personal info next time.
