[Resolved] Meru Cabs — Intolerable behavior of chauffeur
I am, a Pharma Professional, based up at Delhi, one of the most frequent users of Meru Cabs in Delhi. After every few days I usually hire Meru cab for commuting to airport and sometimes for my office. Occasionally even at odd hours when my flight gets delayed.
But to my surprise this time their chauffer behaved ridiculously when he arrived for pick-up at my residence.
Firstly, he started giving me numerous calls to get into the cab even before the pickup time, just because he reached before time.
Secondly, since I was exactly a minute late from the defined frame for waiting time, he started yelling and even after misbehaving he left without picking me. Even if Meru has any of their policies for clients not following timing, they should atleast train their chauffers to behave properly, in a decent way.
Since I had to catch my flight on time, even when I was calling Meru people, nobody was taking responsibility for their chauffer’s behavior and were simply transferring my calls from one line to another.
Not only this, since then, I am calling them frequently to know about what action they have taken regarding my complain, I am getting one answer only that “they’ll call me within next 24 hours with their action plan”. Unfortunately till date (after 1 month approx) I have not received any call from them.
In case, they do not take any action for this, their untrained chauffer who have this sort of temperament and behavior, can even misbehave with their clients at odd hours (late night) and can even drop them before reaching the destination, in the middle of the road with no help. This is a serious concern especially for female users.
Even the Chauffeur’s mobile number that Meru sent me thru sms in advance at the time of booking was different and the number from which their chauffer was calling me at pickup time was absolutely different. This is again a serious concern as far as safety issues are concern.
After giving numerous calls to Meru and getting no response from their side, I am approaching consumer forum.
I would also like to quote that many of my close related people are facing myriad problems with Meru which clearly states that their overall management and supervision has gone drastically down. Many times Cab doesn’t reach the destination; they don’t even care to inform their clients.
As this is not only my problem, many of the people in Delhi use Meru Cabs very frequently which includes females, elderly people and even teenagers, and this is a serious matter as their safety is at stake. I would request you to immediately take action against this absurd and irresponsible treatment and management of Meru cabs.
Hoping for the favorable action, at the earliest.
