[Resolved]  New Delhi Airport Immigration — New Delhi Airport Immigration Officers

Address:Delhi

Indian Immigration officers are absolutely useless and inefficient. If one travels to countries like Singapore and China, you will notice the efficiency of the officers over there.

However as soon as you arrive at the Delhi Airport (Brand new btw, but attitude of staff is same old), the inefficiency sets in. Huge ques for immigration, only and only because the sitting behind the desks cant move their fingers fast enough (for a no-brainer job!).

When i arrived at the immigration counter upon arrival from Singapore recently, the of an officer took over 10 minutes to clear me. Indian citizens entering India have to wait that long!. Besides asking stupid questions like how many times I travel in a year (as long as the Govt of India is not paying for my travel, I can travel 100 [censored]ing times in a year) and whats your purpose of visit to Singapore (I have too much free time, so i went to waste some in Singapore - wtf is your problem) to checking my visas's etc etc.

I dont think there is any place to complain but the next time i travel i will loose my temper at the a**holes immigration officers. The Beaureau of Immigration has mentioned some emails ([protected]@hotmail.com, [protected]@nic.in, [protected]@nic.in) but i dont thing any one even checks them.

Hate the new airport and the working in it.

Regards,
Vidur

you r right mr vidur but all officers are not same, my sympathy is with you because u r the sufferer of that incident but in my view your way of critisize something a bit harsh, suppose your flight will be delayed for some hrs due some techniqal reason or some what at that time you will wait naa... then why r u getting so angry on those who feels the burden of chance of forgery in 36 pages o[censored]r passport, more then 50 types of visas, impersonations, jacket change, and many other security threats and more then a burden to filter you in more then two lacks of ristricted bad elements as ur so called "(for a no-brainer job!). Hi,
My name is Subham. On 1st of May, 2013, I entered Delhi T3 Airport for traveling to Kuala Lumpur, then Hong Kong and then China with my friend. My return ticket was from Beijing. I was traveling by Malaysia Airlines MH 191. At first I went to the Malaysia Airlines Economy boarding counter. A person on duty came and asked me and my friend a few question about our traveling was pretty ok. Then after getting the boarding pass when I went to the immigration counter, the immigration officer sitting at the desk didn't ask me any question and just checked my Visa and stamped the passport. As soon as I enter from the narrow lane, an officer on duty called my and my friend. He was very rude and uncultured and doesn't know how to talk and respect the flight passenger. He called my in Hindi and say, IDHAR AA... IDHAR AA... IDHAR AA(Three times). Then during the entire conversation he was very rude and keeps calling me by TU TERE and other staffs. I think he doesn't even know English properly. He asked me, KYU JA RAHA HAIN KL. So I said for traveling. He said, kya? I again said traveling. He said SAMAJH ME NEHI AAYA. So I said GHUMNE JA RAHA HU. He asked TU KYA KARTA HAIN. I said I have a Xerox shop in Delhi and Calcutta. He said XEROX SHOP KO KL GHUMNE SE KYA LENA DENA. Then he called my friend. She is a girl. After calling her, he kept her waiting for him to finish his personal conversation with his colleague. Like this after 2 minutes he asked her the same questions. He also said KYA BAAT HAIN, TERI FRIEND DELHI SE HAIN AUR TU CALCUTTA SE! I applied my passport from Calcutta as I belong to Calcutta though I stay in Delhi, he let us go after all these harassment. If I have money, can I not go for personal tour to any country when I already have the Visa for that country? Are they trained to be rude and behave like that? It is ridiculous and I would really like to forward this complaint to the higher officer of the Immigration of Delhi Airport T3. It doesn't happen anywhere in the world. I traveled to many Asian countries and nobody behaved with me like that.

Regards,
Subham
you are absolutely right my freind...the Passport officers are very ill behaved...they dont know how to behave...evrytime we go for immigration clearance they behave the same...they are all frustrated...doesnt matter from which country or to which country you are travelling they keep behaving roughly uselessly...there should be some punishment against this bad behavior...what you think???
I want to share a feedback about the immigration officer i interacted with on International New Delhi airport.
I am a australian resident but I have Indian citizen ship and nationality.
My new Indian passport ( recently renewed) was issued from Indian consulate in Melbourne. At the moment the Australia Permanent Visas are not stamped on passport and they are maintained electronically. I have traveled with this passport in Dec 2014 from Melbourne to Chennai and return. I didnt have any issue at the airport or immigration desk.

I traveled again to India and this time it was to Delhi and during departure the immigration officer wanted me produce a document for my Australian PR, after a series of discussion he got annoyed with me and stamped my passports first page, which is a bio page and has my photo on it. Luckily that page is laminated ( for a purpose) and i was able to rub off the ink. But that is no professional way to handle a conflict and try to destroy someones passport.
NEw Delhi Airport has the most uncouth, corrupt, criminal and dirty minded immigration and customs officers i have ever seen anywhere in the world. I am a business / first class passenger and I am 40 years old but I look in my 20s and I have faced immense harassment from filthy officers at IGI airport, but I scream and make a scene now so that these people are bought to justice. They cannot touch an Indian cutizen or any citizen in this country, so if any of you ever face any harassment from these filthy officers just make NOISE and let everyone around know how these offcers are threatening you and speaking to you with an authoritative intimidating TONE. They have absolutely NO right to speak to anyone in such a tone or sound insulting and uncouth in any manner. Ask to see a senior officer and complain to the highest authority you can and make a scene right there so they are ashamed of themselves. Enough is enough, if the government of this country cannot civilise their officials then we citizens should do it, make them ashamed of how they speak to you and do not be afraid in answering back if you have not done anything wrong. Delhi airport is the height o[censored]ncouthness and lack of basic civility, its a shameless authority full o[censored]ntrained badly behaved arrogant and many corrupted people. ITs a shame to be an India if we are being treated so horribly in our own country, anyway Indians are treated badly elsewhere too because we have a weak unsupportive government that does not care about its citizens at all or what we go through. If we are not respected in India only then how can we expect to be respected elsewhere.?
