[Resolved] Nokia E62 — Not able to satisfy the special offers promised during purchase
Tax Invoice No: TN/01128/00001/8121 dated: 7/9/2007
The purchase was effected with the promise from the Store through advertisement promos and also through free gift coupons that:
a) A Rs.5000 gift can be obtained through a scratch card offer- Through which a "Family Holiday Package" had resulted and
b) Another free Reebok gift coupon voucher worth MRP Rs.2490 (Redeemable against only 3D Runner Shoe[protected], Voucher No: 237577, which is valid for a period of 6 months from the date of issue. Date of Issue was printed as March 22,2007 and the shopkeeper wrote on pen as 07/09/2007, which was my mobile purchase date and the same was issued to me.
After purchase, immediately i had visited several Reebok showrooms in chennai to redeem the Reebok gift voucher. I was finally made to understand that the coupon can only be redeemed at R.R.Associates, New No.91, Uthamar Gandhi Salai, Nungambakkam, Chennai-600034, Phones: 64552455, 28203332 for chennai.
I visited the store then and I was told that the stock of the same is NOT available and that it would take 15 days or so for the same to arrive. From then on, I had visited this store atleast 5 or 6 times and I was given the similar response.
I finally visited the R.R.Associates store on 27th Jan 2008 asking for the same at around 9 PM. I was attended by Mr.Jilani who was not kind to me and was giving irresponsible answers that I should go and ask "The mobile store" personnel only about this as the stock is not being supplied with the shoe model. He further said that the scheme was discontinued. When I requested him to give me the same in writing so that I could take it up with "the mobile store" personnel, the same was denied and Mr.Jilani was giving rude answers. He was telling me to avoid quoting his or his shopkeeper's name to any personnel at Mobile store too and he is not to be brought in to the picture at all as it does not concern him or his shop. I informed him that the response was not satisfactory to a customer and for a customer the coupon being issued by The Mobile store and counter signed by Reebok is what matters and any non-compliance is a gross mistake of Reebok and Essar. I was then attended by Mr.Jude of the same showroom who wrote his name on a Visiting card and asked me to go to "The mobile store" and asked them to get in touch with him. After the altercation, I had left the showroom.
I then visited "The mobile store" Anna nagar showroom on 29/1/2008 at around 4 pm along with my colleague Mr.Brajesh Singh Rawat. We were attended by Mr.Rajesh, at the cash counter. We explained the problem to him and he then spoke to his store manager Mr.Sudhakar, who had gone out of office and we were told that he would come back within half an hour. He started giving us irresponsible answers about the same and was not giving us any acceptable attention. He was very unpleasant in dealing with the situation of customer complaint. With great reluctance, Mr.Rajesh connected us to Mr.Sudhakar and he also denied to give us the contact numbers of Mr.Kishore and Mr.Hariharan. After waiting for a while, we demanded the contact phone numbers of his higher ups namely Mr.Kishore and Mr.Hariharan (Area Sales Manager), but the same was denied to us. Neither was the shopkeepers were helping us on the same. After waiting for nearly 40 minutes and asking for a solution, we had to walk out of the store with frustration. The following are the aspects on which we doubted the power of the consumer in this country.
a) We do not understand what was the motive behind Mr.Rajesh and Mr.Sudhakar not giving us access to his higher ups in resolving the issue. The behaviour of all the customer service executives (sales staff) was substandard and not expected of from such a group like Essar.
b) The way we are being lured to purchase items by way of offers and later not helping in arranging the stocks accordingly in order to keep up the PROMISES made to the customer
c) Why should the customer be made a fool by such offers and finally not being serviced with dignity, respect and honour for making a purchase at their esteemed store. The customer has to finally grieve about the whole transaction and just leave. This is a mere case of CHEATING A CUSTOMER
d) If The mobile store has issued such coupons, it is also responsible for joint co-ordination with Reebok to check on the stocks and to complete the promises made to its customers. The customer must not in any way be made a FOOL for keeping such confidence in ESSAR Group company and making a purchase.
Since My coupon is still valid upto 07/03/08 , I feel empowered as a consumer in this country , I demand Essar Telecom Retail Limited's The Mobile Store to arrange my due of Reebok shoes size 8 UK to be delivered at my home address and contact details as mentioned on my Invoice immediately. I would also want to be compensated for my visits to these showrooms duely. I have made around 5 to 6 visits to Nungambakkam Reebok showroom and once to The mobile Store showroom.
I hope that the recipient of this complaint would act on the same immediately and give me a positive response within the next 24 hours.
