[Resolved]  Onion Insights — not paid for mystery shopping

Abdulla here from Riyadh. Well I started conducting the assignments for Onion Insights almost one and half year back. I have done a lot of assignment for them in Panorama Mall and other different areas of Riyadh.

I always received excellent support from Onion Insights team members. Despite having language barriers, they always accommodated everything to help and ensure that the Mystery Audit is conducted successfully.

And yes I was paid for every assignments that I have done for them until now. Highly professional team and excellent company to work with to help you earn some goodies or extra money in your free time.

I've also not paid for mystery shopping. Niyati Desai who is Business Manager in Onion Insights took all the adresses from Bare and use them. Although Bare Associates International said that thet do not rent, sell, or share ANY personal information about you with other people or nonaffiliated companies, it seems thats not true.

the above said complaint is registered by myself. my name is sathish kumar.k, from chennai and i am following you for 250 rupees a 250 times and getting various excuses from a person called simantha. And moreover I have done my first and last mystery shopping on july, so that you can calculate how many days I am waiting for the money to get into my account. I no need that 250 rupees, please donate it some needy

I also witnessed the same treatment by Onion Insights. Did three shop appraisals for them for Rs 1200 from my own pocket. Guess they made the most of me since it was done in a week. This was in September and even though i have repeatedly asked them for the payment i have yet to receive it. I sincerely advice everyone not to fall for this fraud, its a waste of time and money.

We have repeatedly reminded you to complete your bank details in your profile to enable us to make the payments due to you. However, you have still not provided the information - without your bank details, how can we pay you? As a policy, we do not send cheques or demand drafts anymore and all our payments to our Mystery Shoppers are made by online transfers.

Hi All

I have done an assignment with OnionInsights in March. It has been almost 60 days now and I am yet to receive the payment. I have all my bank details updated. I have sent Simantha an email asking about the estimated time it will take to receive my payment. I have not received any response from her end. I am still waiting for the payment as promised on their website that it will be paid with 60 days.

I have done a mystery assignment (PETER ENGLAND, HYDERABAD) for you guys in first week of march, still waiting for the payment .

All my Bank details are upto date.I tried to contact number of times, no success .

Hi, I am working with Onion Insights from past one and half year and had no problem with them. I have completed several assignments for them and was paid on time just like other companies. The staff at this company is also much nicer than other mystery shopping companies in India.

This is an organization run with zero business ethics and absolutely shamefull people. You will not get paid for your assignments, be prepared to send as many mails as you want without receiving any reply. No accounts would be sent to you come what may. And last but not least you will be blocked from there system manually if you raise a voice for non receipt of your payments. Let them prove even one authentic mystry shopper who was paid even once in 20 days…

Please note we had assigned a very important audit to you which had to be completed within a stipulated period of time. However due to your negligence and unavailability we lost out of time. You were absconding for two weeks resulting in a great loss of time and energy for us. Even after reassuring us that you would complete the audit after extending your due date, you still failed to execute the same. We even tried calling your family members. However we were given no assistance and were given vague excuses. As per company policy, if a shopper absconds and has pending assignments, we do not pay for any of the remaining audits and we deactivate them. This is done to penalize and ensure such behaviour is not repeated again. We all notify other mystery shopping companies about such shoppers. However Vishal we have not done the same in your case. Kindly request you to understand the reason why we take such strict actions.

Very vaguely and baseless reply as know to be received by you.
May be there team members were absconding for weeks such that he did not have the time to answer call or reply to an email. But whenever he answers shoppers should be free to reply and complete the report. The report would have been completed before time if one mr. sami would have replied to the email or answered the calls on that faithful saturday (well when you cannot give complete guideline, why do you take assignments from companies. There guideline was that a group tour had to be booked, for why x amount was transferred. Well the booking cannot be done in X amount. The company (to be audited) does not respond to your post booking secnario untill x+y is paid. Should we pay that Y amount, will onion re-imburse the same etc... if you cannot answer the calls or reply to emails then dont expect the audit to be completed by any one...

First a few facts.


1. Does any one know where Onion Insights Office is?...There website is under construction for years... Speak of absconding. try calling tehm anytime after 6pm, if they answer the call you have reached pradise...
2. If there staff are not fit enought to reply you back on the query/problems at the audit god save you... you will be barred banned etc.
3. They can beg you to completed the assignments even after the due date. If that is not enough they will make you update a few things as late as 11pm by begging you that the assignment is very important to them and they need it immediately. You will receive a grade of 9 from 10, but your screwed now as there work is completed. I am sure some one will cheat them the same way with that same amount for this assignment.
4. I am sure company policies does not allow you to transfer money but what about statement of accounts. I have completed many shops that are not in my shoppers log also...what about them? Are you that afraid to even give an statement of account ?/??... People can quantify the quantum of fraud that they are doing for years... (By statement I mean break up of payments transferred for each assignment)
5. No one jobless to work only for OI. People have priorities. Every one dedicates some amount of time for these extra things, no one lives on them.
6. No speak of absconding, well I have a list of people who say that people at OI has been absconding for months after promissing certain payments vide there official emails (Niyati, Vennessa etc)
7. If your company policy says that you can call and tell all companies that I work for please do so. If you can prove or even find out a single company as yours have fun... you know what I mean. But I know all the companies that you get work from, AB Group etc to name a few. I am going to email them about your excellents works and responses, business ethics etc. Your free to notify any company that you want. I neevr worked for any one other than this crappy company. I will mark copie sto you also so have fun clearing the air with them. also I am filling an consumer compliant in chennai consumer courts. If any one has the same experience like me please contact me with your story, will add on to my case (joint compliants...)

Well the most amazing thing is that I have not asked them for the payments for the last one or two assignments that were to be paid before the last assignment. The company policy says that there is no statement of account even if you want one. What they pay you is final and no one can question its accuracy. If your under paid go screw yourself, dont ask us any informations on the break ups... We do NOT HAVE ANY ACCOUNTS THAT CAN TALLY YOUR PAYMENTS WITH ASSIGNMENTS COMPLETED.

This is company policy, I wish this could be updated on their website if they actually had one...(a genuine one)

it was excellent to have the management of OI speak with me, and inform me that they shall resolve all issues. It was very good to have a reply immediately from them. She has assured me that all problems will be resolved by next week and my accounts will be mailed to me.

I disagree with this.

I have been working with Onion Insights Pvt Ltd since the past year. Their team is professional and organised. I have received all my payments till date. At times it does take more than 60 days but then payments do arrive. Each time I have a query I just call or mail them and they do revert and solve it for me. They have given me a number of audits and guided me through it properly. I guess there is a probability of a company making a few late replies and you should give them the benefit of the doubt. I am glad to read your last comment. As I said they always revert to help.

I am a shopper with Onion Insights for a over a year now, and over the course of time I have done several audits for them. Based on my experience with the organization, I have been paid for all assignments done and hence there may be some misunderstanding due to which you may not have received payment for a certain audit. While, at times, there may be a delay in receipt of the payment; it is definitely processed eventually and there has been no such instance where I have not been paid for an assignment done.

In addition, on reaching out to the employees; my queries and concerns have always been addressed. It has been a pleasure working with Onion Insights and I am sure (as you have already mentioned) that your concern will be addressed as well.

Also, for those who often find the site under construction, I am guessing you are looking at onioninsights.com instead of onioninsights.info; I used to face the same problem before I realized I was looking at the wrong site.

Do they send a check on your first assignment? They sent me one and the amount is greatly higher and I mean by thousands of dollars is this a scam? This would be my first assignment and I don't want someone to take my money from my account because this check isn't real. can I trust them ? it looks like alot of people are getting burned from these folks.

Go to [protected]@fdic.gov to cross reference your check and see if it's legit but so far they seem fake. Always call the government line to check for authenticity.
