[Resolved]  Qatar Airways — UNACCOUNTABILITY, HARRASMENT, LATE DELIVERY OF LUGGAGE

Address:Ludhiana, Punjab

Sir,
I am writing to you for the simplest reason that I have grievance regarding the servces offered by Qatar Airways.

My Ticket details are an follows:
Date: 16th March 2010
Name: Singh/Paramjit Mr.
Ticket from : Heathrow, London to Amritsar Raja Sansi Airport Via, Doha INTL.
Ticket Number: 157 [protected]-125
Place of issue: Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Agent no: 27j0sj
My Wife’s Ticket details are as follows:
Date: 16th March 2010
Name: Sidhu/Swinderpal K. MRS.
Ticket from : Heathrow, London to Amritsar Raja Sansi Airport Via, Doha INTL.
Ticket Number: 157 [protected]-123
Place of issue: Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Agent no: 27j0sj

Now the complaint is that we were supposed to board Qatar Airways Jet from Heathrow Itl. Airport. London U.K. But right before boarding there was some glitch in the Jet and We were merged into Air India plane Flight Num: AI1188 Seat Number 35E and 35J respectively on 16th of March 2010. We were told that the flight’s gonna take 3 hours to rectify. We insisted that if our luggage was moved alongwith us from the QATAR AIRWAYS plane to AIR INDIA Jet, only then we will change else we can wait for 3 hours, so that the luggage goes with us. We were assured by the Ground crew and Qatar Airways staff that the luggage has already been moved to the Air India Jet.
The reason for insisting to go with the luggage was it had medicines of my wife who suffers from High Blood Pressure, and the norms are strict that we cannot carry any medicines what so ever in the Cabin Luggage.
Now what transpired was that, since the doses of my wife were for a day which she was permitted to carry had been consumed by her. When we reached Raja Sansi Intl. Airport Amritsar Punjab, we were informed that our luggage has been left behind at Heathrow Intl. Airport, London, U.K. Since all the medicines and prescriptions were in the luggage along with the clothes, no Pharmacy Outlet will give us the medicines. My wife had to be hospitalized temporarily as her medical condition deteriorated, and finally after a spending a day at the hospital were we given the prescription and the medication.
This was the harassment and mental agony that we had to bear for no fault of our’s. We had to spend a whole day at the Hospital after a tiring flight of 20 hours of flight, 8 hours of waiting at Heathrow Intl. Airport, London, U.K. 5 hours drive to home from the Amritsar Intl. Airport. Add to that I had to come back, which was a drive of 10 hours plus. Above that my Luggage we not delivered to me at my residence instead I was asked to come and collect it from Raja Sansi Intl. Airport. Amritsar.
I stopped by the Qatar Airways Office at Raja Sansi. Intl. Airport to file a complaint and the staff there was so adamant that they were denying Qatar Airways for any fault what so ever, and rather said that it was the fault of Air india, it was Air India’s responsibility to move the luggage from Qatar Airways Jet to Air India’s Jet.
Me and My Wife had to suffer a lot due to no fault of our’s, and Qatar Airways instead of taking responsibility, were adamant that Qatar Airways were in no way responsible in the agony and mental trauma we had to suffer. I had to admit my wife in Emergency due to the sheer fact that the Medicines were left behind by Qatar Airways at Heathrow Intl. Airport, London, U.K. on top of that we had to shell lot of money on clothes as were were left without any options because our clothes and all the stuff required on daily basis was lying at Heathrow Intl. Airport. London. U.K. On top of that I had to hire a cab to collect my luggage a day after I arrived.
You just cann’t imagine the mental trauma and agony/frustration that me and my wife had to go through. Now Me and My Wife are scheduled to return in MAY 2010 and I am still in a fix as to cancel the Qatar Airways tickets and book some other Airlines.
I want to talk to a responsible person and make sure that the harassment that We had to bear is compensated and also see to it that it does not happen with Me or Someone else.
I will wait for the call for 2 DAYS and after that I m going to go PUBLIC to NEWS CHANNELS AND PRINT MEDIA with this very incidence. It’s totally upto you how you want this to end

Regards,

Paramjit Singh

QATAR AIRWAYS HAS CRAPPY SERVICES!!! TRIED TO ADJUST MY TICKET TO A LATER DATE AND I GOT A WHOLE BOAT LOAD OF STORIES AND EXORBITANT CHARGES THAT WAS MORE EXPENSIVE THAN BUYING A NEW TICKET. THE RATING BOARD SHOULD REVIEW THEIR STARS AND REDUCE THEM. THIS IS NOT A 5 STAR AIRLINE IN ANY WAY MORE A 2 OR 3 STAR. THEY SHOULD STOP MAKING OFFERS THAT CANNOT BE LIVED UP TO...NOW I AM STRANDED IN A STRANGE COUNTRY (DUBAI) AND I'LL DEFINITELY HAVE TO RESORT TO BUYING A WHOLE NEW TICKET...I HAVE A WHOLE LOT TO SAY BUT THEY SHOULD PLS REVIEW THEIR SERVICES BEFORE THE HITS THE FAN...
