[Resolved]  Race Car Helpline — CHEATING. NOT PROVIDING SERVICE

I had subscribed to the RACE car helpline on 24/8/08. The RACE company had sent their Franchise sales agent from Waris Associates to my residence. The amount was paid to the person and the Sales agent gave a receipt to that and also told me and wrote on the receipt that on payment of Rs.365 I wshall be getting service from 24/8/08 to 23/11/08.

I was travelling from Dwarka to Residence in Delhi on 9 Oct 08 with family at 4 am when my car had a puncture. When I called up RACE the call centre for Help the man told me that my RACE membership had lapsed on May 08 itself. I pleaded to him that my membership to RACE was valid. He advised me that if I pay Rs.400 for a new membership then I ll get the service. The amount was too much for a puncture.

Finally a passer by was requested to change the tyre to whom I had to pay Rs.150. Today when I was checking the record I found the receipt on which was clearly written that my membership was valid upto 23/11/08. Which means despite having paid I was not given the service.

Today I had a talk with the Manager Sharmila and the Resident Manager Gaurav Choudhary on[protected] who insisted that indeed my membership had lapsed. However when I asked him that I had the payment Receipt in written on the payment receipt that the validity was upto 23/11/08, he replied that he is not responsible for the mistakes or cheating done by his staff or his agents.

I m sure you would agree that this grossly violates the rights of me as a customer.

I also faced a similar problem with RACE. I think cheating regarding their dates is a common practice of RACE. I had bought RACE membership for 1 year. But after 9 months they told me that my membership has expired. Luckily I found the receipt which showed that the membership was still valid. But RACE's response was similar - it is the sales agent's fault and not their's. But they can rectify this mistake if I pay for next year now. Obviously seeing their behaviour I refused. They got angry and started behaving rudely like goons. They informed me that even though I had the receipt my membership is no longer valid and I can do whatever I can with the receipt.

I believe this is their common practice and they try it out. Typically many people would not remember the exact renewal date or may not keep the receipt.

Race Car Helpline — Bad Service. Cheater

I have a valid Race Car helpline No. RDM 4922. On 13th October, my car Maruti AC 800 developed a snag wherein it didnot start and I was stranded with my 3 yr old daughter in front of powerhouse in Najafgarh near BSES office. I called the helpline no [protected] at 1.08 pm , the caller asked me to call[protected] and I immediately called up this no and lodged ny complaint they assured me they would reach me within 30 mins. after 30 mins i called they said the vehicle with the mechanic is on the way and would be reaching us in another 15 mins. At 2.04 (after 1 hr of lodging the complaint) i again called they gave me the number of the mechanic. When I called him he was having lunch at his home in dwarka. he told me that he was informed only 5 mins back and that he will take another 20 mins to reach the spot.

I had enough and decided to find help by myself and located a mechanic about half a km away who came and repaired the snag.

The whole incident has left me shaken since I ussually travel alone to pickup and drop my daughter from school and what if the this incident happened at night.

Request all car owners to first verify the claims of the car helpline companies since they are out to cheat the people.

I was given RACE car help line membership by M/s. Waris Associates, D - 20, First Floor, Ranjit Nagar Comm. Complex, New Delhi - 8, vide Invoice No. 2669 dated 22/2/8 for Rs. 300/- for the period February 2008 to August 2009. On the receipt issued to me the logo of RACE was printed which gave me the impression of genuinecity The payment was paid by cheque in favour of PRJ Auto Services Pvt. Ltd. (RACE car Helpline), vide cheque No. 241290 dated 22/2/2008 drawn on Canara Bank, Rajouri Garden, to the above party. During this 18 months M/s. Race Car helpline refused to provide service and later they even declined to take responsibility of the person and the frenchisee M/s. Waris Associates who issued the receipt.

Some legal expert can only find out who is at fault M/s. Race Car Helpline or M/s. Waris Associates

Moreover RACE car helpline people are rude and lack nice behaviour and communication.

I had the most awful experience day before night when I was stranded in the middle of the bitter cold night with my two year old baby and elderfly mother. My car needed to be towed and the guy I spoke to showed so much apathy that I could not imagine. he suggested me to call other towing trucks or a crane and expected me to take down numbers standing in the middle of the night with a broken car. He did not care even after repeatedly requesting him for help. he finally agreed to send the mechanic who never turned up. My driver somehow managed to fix the car by himself. if this is the kind of help they are offering then no one wants it.
there sevices are not upto the mark and it is most 3rd class helpline i hav ever seen...
i had a similar problem on this Tuesday night on 9-feb i called up RACE helpline for my car breakdown in Faridabad.. to my anguish ad adding to more frustration the RACE represnetative denied coming to location tellimg me that his CAR itself has broken donw and that he would not be able to come, , , i had to then call up my relatives to help me serve the car in the middle of the night ... this is worst experience with the service
I have the member of RACE since the company came into existance, but frankly speaking I never faced any problem with them. You all may find I am joking but it is true. I am still the active member. If fact when I did not use the services of this company they gave me 3 months bonus too. But I too face sometimes problem not because of their service but because of some bogus people who called us on many occassions saying our one year contact is over and we need to renew and their agent would come and collect cash etc. But we were very elert and found someone playing mischief as we had the reciepts. We quitely called RACE helpline and found they were fraud. So we need to be elert ourselves and not complain others. I hope this might help those who have falen pray to such wrong people.
Biggest Cheat and Fraud, the Race company !!!

How can a Government or Consumer Forum ignore this kind of frauds happening in City and at large scale?

Why and How they are surviving inspite of large complaints coming daily and unsatisfied consumers is bearing, though consumer purchased the service in Hope and relied and later on they come to know of fraud and are stuck in middle of road waiting with family for Hours in night and even if they confirm, no one turns up for hours (even after regular chase up on calls).

I have tested them many a times and always got dissatisfaction in terms of Time/ Reliability/Money and many more that I can't even explain - Fraud in membership (that I resolved by regular chase and through Corporate pressure on RACE management),

NO PHONE is working and EVEN their changed No. 40007000 is either not picked up or sometimes they disconnect.

I stuck once in Mathura road with my Family and searched them with lot of calling ( Calls costed me Rs 50 ) to get them and once they confirmed, I took directly the no of Car driver and tried calling him after 15 mins, he assured me to come within 15 minutes but no one turned up and i called several times this way and got several excuses for approx 2 hours. I took help of my relatives and come to my house and I got call from RACE once i reached home to come there, but I denied to take service (B'coz it was impossible to me to get back there).

All other mentioned points in other complaints are valid...so I don't want to repeat them.

I suffered many a times.

PLEASE STOP STOP !!! CHEATERS TO HELP OUR SOCIETY.

I agree with the comments above and after many Odd things and frustation happening to me, I am eager to complain for this in Bigger forum and also want to know how can we avoid them to make life miserable of many of the consumers like me.

I am very Patient and Disciplined guy who tolerated and at the end, after every compromises, I want to get this company GO AWAY from Delhi.

I have the member ship of RACE, yesterday the clucth wire of my car has been broken and i logged the case into RACE, one person has came he checked and found that the wire has cut and he told me that he cannot repair this now, you have go to the service center.. i am new to that place i does not know any thing about the service center.. then he told me that he know one person who can visit here and repair my car, and he will charge 900 bugs for the same. The cost was too high, i requested to reduce some amount, but he disagree and he went off, then i findout one sevice center and they chage only RS300 to change the wire.

My feedback is not good for RACE...can never satisfied there custome like this...
I subscribed the race membership on 1/8/2009. they gave me a sticker on which 4 helpline numbers were written. during this one year I tried to call RACE service for 3-4 times. but noboby picked up the phone even once. yesterday when my car got puncured I again tried to call at their helpline but nobody reponded as usual. finally I called Mr. Puran, someone from RACE.and to my surprise I got to know that the helpline numbers given to me are changed eight months back and nobody informed me. That means I have paid Rs. 400 only for 4 months.

All the serveices to be provided by RACE depend upon telephone number only. If you are not informing your customer about change in number that means you are trying to cheat them. You have our mobile number at which you make call for membership renewal in advanceb but you can't update your coustomer with changed number simply by a sms.

So FUNNY!!!
I also agree. I was struck for 3-4 hours in night during rain but they have not picked the phone neither their Manager (Opr) responded. I strongly suggest all o[censored] please don't take their service, they are just cheater. After your advance payment they will never come when u need them urgently.

If anyone has any query please call me. I would also complaint against them in consumer court.

I purchased their service back in august and geuss what heppens. A sales representative came to visit my place and took the money. They charged me 499 instead of 399 saying that along with my services I would also get an accidental insurance of 1 lakh. The sales rep acted as though he was not aware of it and promised that he would make sure that someone from the corporate office will courier it to me. he also made me talk to some thief called jyoti madam. She promised me that the form would be sent to me the very next day. However it has been 3 months now and I am still waiting for it. I called them. Amazingly a car helpline number is supposed to be picked up ASAP. They never pick up your calls!!!. After so many days i reached them. Asked if i could speak to JYOTI. The giirl came on to the phone to say : HOW DID YOU GET MY NAME???? WE NEVER PROVIDE NAMES ON THE CALL. SHE WAS EXTREMELY RUDE!!! just point blank told me that she would not be able to send me the papers any more. When asked why??? she goes like I CANNOT TELL YOU WHY. she said she would have to speak to her boss.. I asked her bosses name and number. she denied very rudely. PLEASE DO NOT TAKE THEIR SERVICES. IF YOU LOVE YOUR CAR IT IS THE WORST MISTAKE YUO CAN MAKE. eVEN IF YOU ARE STUCK, THEY WOULD NOT PICKUP THE CALL WHICH MAKES NO SENSE... THEY ARE A BUNCH OF THIEVES!!!

THEY ARE NOT FOR SERVICE, BUT TO MAKE PEOPLE FOOL ONCE I GOT STUCKED IN MIDDLE OF THE ROAD N WEN I CALL RACE THEY SAID THEY CANT DO ANYTHING TO SOLVE MY PROB. AS WELL AS CANT TOW MY CAR. WAT A BULL THEN I CALLED TOWING VAN WHICH CHARGED RS 1000, NOW WHO IS LIABLE TO PAY THAT AMOUNT AND WHY RACE CHARGED MEMBERSHIP FEE
