[Resolved]  RBS credit card — Credit Card goes to settlement process without the customer's consent

Address:Bangalore, Karnataka

Hi,

My credit card# 54XX 38X3 23X2 5XX7 issued by Royal Bank of Scotland N.V. I have been using this card since 2006. But stopped using since january this year. Due to some personal reasons could not pay 2months emi. This made the bank to block the card. I didn't mind this. I thought it would be active when I repay. Again started paying the monthly EMIs. Now when I applied for the loan, this overdue amount showed up. I paid up the overdue amount. But still RBS is not willing to remove the obligation.

Reason it is saying is, that the credit card is under settlement process and have to pay whole balance amount to remove it from the CIBIL. This is a SHOCKER for me, I haven't given any request for the settlement. That is without the customer's consent RBS will first BLOCK the card and then put to settlement process, if they don't recieve the EMI.

credit card RBS No:5415382315986042 — Settlement of Card

II Remainder Dt 21.09.2010

I have already given my offer for settlement of my Card Dues. I have not yet received any communication from your bank. I have received only the monthly statement for this month with full amount due : I am once again sending my grievance for settlement.

I have owned your credit Card No:[protected] and I used the card three years back and I have not used the card afterwards. I was paying the minimum due amount of Rs.2,800.00 for the past three years and so far paid more than Rs.1,00,000.00 for availed a limit of Rs.35,000.00. As I am aged 58 years and yet to get marriage for my three daughters I am unable to pay any more amount. The amount I have paid is more than 72% Interest I request your esteemed to close my account as fully settled. Any how I agree to pay Rs.7,500.00 as additional amount as I have not informed you about the non utilization of card till date. Hence I request you to send the settlement letter at the earliest and I will pay the agreed amount within 15 working days from the receipt of your confirmation.
Thanking You
