Readers Digest — false advertizement

cannot locate 3 free gifts from readersdigest I am very upset being sent a card and not finding what they advertized.
I too have been playing the Sweeptakes contest, thinking it is fair & transparent, but there is no commitment from RD on the dates of declaring the contest. Even they charged Rs. 895 for useless 2010 diary [for which I will not take it free of cost], but the postal department was not supportive in taking back the diary. The books are OK - I haven't gone through them. I must have invested more than Rs. 20, 000 in the books since 2007 - thinking that one day I will win. They should declare the winner etc through well known media e.g. CNN IBN or NDTV etc with prior intimation to all its subscribers - so that they can gain our trust. Everyone cannot win - it's a game, but whether anyone really WINS? is a big question. We are investing our hard earned money, if they are cheating - then it will not get DIGESTED, please note you cannot DIGEST - READER'S money. If indulged in fraudulent ways - you'll have to close down sooner or later. Be fair is the advise to RD team. Please don't play with people's emotions.
pls contact me .

Reader's Digest — False advertising

False advertising by Readers Digest post card included with first magazine to claim "3 Free Gifts" no such website.
Your not alone, I have the same postcard but this one doesn't say a thing about new subscription . Not a good sign from them.

Thank you so much guys, whoever has written here. I received a Sweepstakes doc pack today, endorsed by SBI Cards (WTF??? A nationalized bank like SBI endorsing these ?)

These M*****s need a formal complaint in the Consumer court of India for sure.

Reader's Digest — false advertising, say there are 3 free gifts

This is really frustrating it says 3 free gifts waiting for you. Then you type in www.readersdigest.ca/3gifts and you get nothing.
Hello everyone,

In this forum everyone seems to be talking but none believe in action.
I totally agree that ITBC sweepstakes is fake. I have received such a letter saying that i need to return the prize tickets that they sent me asap to confirm my entry to sweepstakes and maximize my winnings. I ask them, "why do you send me the ticket in the first place, you could have kept it to yourself". Its because seeing is believing and they also want to push us into renewing the subscription. All they want us to send in return is a DD or cheque and the prize tickets/certificate of benefits are all marketing gimmicks.

About their EARLY REPLY BONUS:- it is obvious that someone who is closer to mumbai is going to win it, because its gonna take time to reach other destinations.

for eg; take my case ... i'm residing at Chennai and they have posted it from mumbai on 15th December 2009 but it reached me only on 24th December 2009. which i need to send back immediately. So i never stand a chance to become an early bird.

also as stated by some one above, none of their letters to us are dated. All the dates that i have mentioned here are from postal departments dispatch seal.

I hope the authorities take necessary action asap, because such an act by ITBC is not a thing of present ..it has been doing this for a long time and people with lack of awareness get trapped.

Thank you .
