Reliance Communications — illicit behaviour and harrasment

Dear Sir/Madam,

Please take some time from your busy schedule to read this whole letter……….

I lost my phone while traveling on 5th January morning, eventually I went to a shop M/s Hema Enterprises at Ranaghat, West Bengal – 741201 to get a new CDMA phone and also to get a new sim with the same no. ([protected])
On enquiring about the procedure the person sitting on the counter told me that I would be provided with a new SIM with my old number on depositing my identity proof and Rs. 150/- and it would be done instantly.
I returned within 15 minutes with my documents and deposited the money and got the sim, when I asked how much time would it take to get activated? The person told that he is not competent enough to do this job and another person Mr. Alok would come in the evening and activate it. On calling the Mr. Alok he told that he would be coming after 7 pm and would activate it.
As the activation would be delayed, to avoid any misuse of the phone I asked the agent over there if I should block the card? He responded positively and I called the customer care from his phone and got it Blocked.
In the Evening I went to the shop and met Mr. Alok who told me that the sim should not have been blocked by me and as I have blocked it, the sim would be activated in 24 hours, so I have to wait upto 8 pm of 6th January at maximum and I should try to call at *228 and follow the instructions after morning of 6th.
As told I dialed *228 next morning and get the response that some 9 digit key has to be entered to activate the sim. Again I went and met Mr. Alok, he told that once the sim is activated you don’t have to give any 9 digit no. and he would call me at the alternate no. as soon as it is done. I told him that I work in a bank and it is very necessary for me to get the phone activated as soon as possible to do my job in a better manner as I have just joined the branch at this place, many other people may be calling me and even my family members would be worried about me.
I contacted the customer care over this issue by Mr. Alok’s phone and get to know the procedure by the person over the phone, which is :-
1. I have to submit my documents at the retail outlet.
2. The retail outlet would send the documents to the WEB WORLD.
3. Web world would send the confirmation message to the customer care and they would then activate my number instantly.
I then enquired why the web world is not submitting the documents confirmation message to the concerned authority, Mr. Alok reassured me that he has sent the documents to the WEB WORLD and the sim would be activated by 6 pm in the evening and nothing is there to worry, I can get relaxed over this.
I waited till 6pm and then again visited the shop, this time Mr. Alok was not there and the person sitting over the counter called him, he was saying that he cannot do it right now and I have to come tomorrow. On asking clarification, the person was just unable to tell anything, he was just telling that “Mr. Alok has the user id and password, he would not be coming now and I can’t do anything about it.” I asked him to provide me the WEB WORLD no. So that I can get to know the actual process, but he told me that he cannot provide me the same.
On trying to get some reliable information………. He called someone and 3 other persons came there and told us that we are not authorized to get angry over there and the job would get done only when the company does it. I asked them to dial the WEB WORLD no. and let me talk I have no interest in knowing their no. Then I was shocked to know that the shop itself was the WEBWORLD.
After a lot of arguments the person was just telling that he couldn’t help me as only MR. Alok is authorized to do this things and on repeated tries by all the 3 persons, he was not picking up the phone.

This was the whole incident, which I have to face.

Now the question is………
a) Is this the way a WEB WORLD of a reputed company boasting of NO. 1 Network in India should be working, with just 1 person to handle things here and he too is not present at the WEBWORLD?
b) No Proper/Educated person to let the customers know the exact procedure?

From my experience as mentioned above, I have learnt the answer to both of above question is YES.

As it is clearly self-explanatory of that I have to go through enormous pain, mental harassment, can I have the privilege to ask why should I provide you with my loyal patronage (Since 2006)? and secondarily why should I not move on to the Consumer Forum and get the compensation for such unprofessional and illicit behavior by your agents.
