[Resolved]  Reliance Living — Sale of Defective Product

I purchased furniture (Sofa Set, Dining Table Set, 2 Beds) worth Rs. 1 Lakh from Reliance Living outlet in Maddilapalem, Vishaklapatnam in the 1st week of March 2013. The sofa delivered tore from bottom within 2 days so I called up Reliance Living at[protected] to take the delivery back and it took 15 days for the people to visit my place and take the delivery.

Reliance staff asked me to take another Sofa Set for exchange however hiked the price on all the products by over 30%. I decided not to purchase Sofa and asked them to refund the money I paid or give me a chance to purchase products from Reliance Digital or Reliance Jewels however the hawkish and thoroughly useless staff insisted that I should at any cost purchase the products from Reliance Living only and the cash won't be refunded.

I told them that there is nothing for me to purchase in Reliance Living and I would have never returned the SOFA SET had it been of good quality and moreover I purchased the product based on the feedback of the Reliance Living sales staff and I am not at fault. Also, I told them that I can't afford to invest Rs. 37000 to purchase paintings, mattresses, perfumes available in Reliance Living so my money should be returned or I should be given the option to purchase from Reliance Digital or Reliance Jewels however my persistent visits and requests to the Deaf and Dumb from Reliance Living Vizag outlet were futile.

3 months transpired without any solution and I was made to run from pillar to post. My name is Venkat and I am reachable at [protected]

Reliance — Defect Product

I have bought a Videocon washing machine from Reliance Digital - Dwarka, Delhi on 21/Aug/2011. The same was delivered on 22/Aug. At the time of Delivery I had refused to accept the product because of the condition of the packing which made me feel like the product was 3rd or 4th hand one. The delivery person asked me to wait for the Installation person who will come in an hr from then to look at the issue and left. After repeated complaints and negotiation a new pack with better packing was delivered on 24/Aug/11. The Installation guy (from Videocon) came only on 24/Aug and closed the ticket in the evening mentioning all well, even after I speaking to him that the LID was not fine. I had to reopen the ticket again and is not solved yet, which means that I cannot use it after 10 days of paying for the product.

I tried escalating to both Videocon and Reliance, with false commitments from everyone and not understanding the discomfort. The regional customer service head went on not answering to messages and the calls made. finally on 28/Aug/11 I was offered a display piece to be delivered by Reliance, which I did not accept.

Even today, I am not sure when I can use this product with the ticket being closed without resolution.

In summary, a product (necessity) I bought by paying full money is not yet available for use and the response and respect I get from Reliance is disgusting.

Can someone look into this please
