I have just joined the site... I could do with some unbiased reassurance that the site is okay, as they asked me for a photocopy of my passport WOWOWOW!!! big no-no!!!
the site otherwise seems okay, but the SEAL authentication smacks of a SCAM. the things they ask you for are SO very inappropriate and not needed to securely identify you. a debit card does fine, they already do they checks and pass the security checks onto shaadi, so the passport thing is either a SCAM or unnecessary.
all the checks for the seal are not needed, well perhaps the qualification one, although I don't have the documents as that was 14 years ago. birth certs are a no-no as you can get citizenship in another country with them as with the passport. the utility bills can open bank accounts. a long list of no-no's.
I would like to think this was Indian Innocence to the internet security protocols in identity but the passort/utilitybill/ birth cert. is BIG suspicion. I will be watching the next few months to see what happens.

I agree. shaadi.com affiliate program is just a crap. I put their banner on my site having 2 million impressions per month and no sale. Then I decided to signup personally and pay them to see and even after signing up and paying it did not track any sale. When i have given all proofs to their support team then they stop replying me. This was bull . So please no one should signup for their affiliate program. We are just getting bad repute just due to these bad indians in market. I dont know when they will realize.

Shaadi.com today asked for copy of my passport as a free member. I deleted my profile as this sounded very suspicious. I am in the UK. My email to them was

Bharatmatrimony as well!:)..Jeewansathi..you name it.They are mostly scams.I had one recent experience from someone supposedly called Meera Patel(from our favorite-shaadi.com). She said she was from NY Albany and currently on trip in Indonesia to take care of her foster mom called Mrs Bagley. Her mom and dad died in a car accident when she was 4.
I did my research and traced the originating location of the emails. They do play their game really well though, the emails sounded really genuine.Some of them came from NY ALBANY. Some from Nigeria.Some from UK when all this time she was supposed to be in Indonesia taking care of her foster mom. Then just today she asked me for money. Her foster mom is now dying and needs to do a renal transplant. Asked me for $8500. I told her I can only give her moral support:) I will just play along for a while..see how low they can stoop. Hope the foster mom does not come to haunt me when she dies:)
I am working on something to teach all of these scammers a lesson. Some really bad karma coming their way:)
Just follow these few rules..all you good people out there will be safe:
1. Google is your best friend. Google that person's id or anything they say . Do a proper research. In my case I simply googled-(Meera Patel shaadi.com).
2.Never ever give any money to anyone you meet on these sites in any circumstances. Let their whole family die:)
3. Track their IP. Again if you dont know how to its easy. Each email contains the source IP address. Once you extract it from the email you can find where the email originates from. For those of you who dont know how to again google it. Its easy.
4.For those of you innocent people who easily believe anything they are told.STOP. The world is not as good as you are. Plenty of bad people out there trying to rip you off .
5. Listen to that inner voice of yours. When your gut tells you something is fishy, then back off.
6. Check out the photos properly. Most of the fake profiles have model type pictures. The scammers steal these pictures from sites such as modelmayhem.
7. As soon as they ask for money. Then you know you are being ripped.Keep your money for you and your family...NOT for someone who you just have met on an online site.
Good luck all of you in finding a genuine person.

internet fraud - Shaadi.com website, They create fraud profile with nice girl pics and send interest to everyone, i replied (without knowing anything) then asked to get membership to contact that person, then i paid amount to get membership, and i found finally, the pic is model pic, i want to make complaint detailly...

Shaadi.com is a total joke. One of the worst places to find woman. None of the women are serious about finding a guy. Instead your profile gets decline for no reason. Woman who reside in U.S in this site are full of . Even women with work permit about finding a guy and divorce woman are the worst .woman who are racist are Punjabi and Guajarati. The reviews the testimony put on the site are buy no individual they are people who create this site. Their job is to go put positive reviews to fool people.to steal their money .and in return you do not get anything. Keep on paying them. shaadi.com is a bad place to find a partner. got in contact with drpassi( SH20282881 just exchanged couple of emails. he thinks (says) ppl don't have family(traditional) values in US. after contacting found his full name, ran his name search in google, found his myspace ID, ran search of myspace id in google and this guy is on many american dating websites (u name it ..datehookup, personals and couple more), looking for short term relationships and he calls himself deep rooted ethical guy.lol(yea rite!!). so of course dropped interest after 2 emails. be careful while looking for partner .
