[Resolved]  Skoda India — useless service

on 25th of march 08, my octavia l&k had a punctured tyre. But the tyre bolt heads were slipped. They needed to be removed by only cutting or welding. On approaching Shrine Motors (Dealers for Skoda in Kolhapur) they sent a technician with us to the site. He told us to remove the bolt yourself fit the spare tyre and then come to the showroom. He just left the site in just a few seconds.
Useless service.
Again after doing every thing, when we reached the showroom at 4:00pm we were told that they were doing us a favour by taking our car inside for fitting new bolts.
Shrine auto dont even have adequate manpower to carryout day to day activities. No clean place to sit. no drinking water. we were also told not to talk to their technicians.
Useless, Useless service from Shrine Auto Kolhapur.

Dear Sir,

We bought SKODA FABIA bearing registered number AP 09 BS 2900 in the
Name of Goverdhan Industries at Mahavir Skoda, Somajiguda, Hyderabad.

From the date of purchase we are facing lot of problems with the Car Engine, break system and with A/C system.

Engine also got stopped all of a sudden in the middle of the way. we complained the same to Skoda service centre .After a lot of struggle they changed the head of the engine (It is a shameful thing that company like Skoda have to change engine head in first year).Even after replacing the head we are facing same problem again and again.

Recently while we were on the way to hospital with a pregnant woman all of a sudden the car get stopped in the middle of the way and in the middle of the traffic. And we get humiliated with the public around us and we have to travel by auto to hospital in such an emergency case. .And once while we were on the way to our industry which is 80 kms away from city again all of a sudden car get stopped in the middle of the high way during the night time while returning to home. This kind of incidents occurred many times with us

After the 2 years warranty period also the problems are same with the car and we nearly incurred Rs 50000/- to 60000/- and we have to send the car to showroom for every two months for repair.

Sir Money is not a problem for us as we are already using so many cars. But using SKODA FABIA is like giving torture to our self and my whole family members fear to travel in SKODA FABIA. People Buy Car for their comforts and Luxurious but here the case is different, we buy FABIA for taking headache and giving problem to my family members and also to spend a lot of money for repairs.

Recently in the month of JUNE we send the car to showroom as it is giving Jerks and getting stopped in between and they charged nearly Rs 20000/- for the problem. But after 10 – 15 days the car is getting same problem again and now when we send the car for the checkup they the are demanding Rs10000/- more for the repair. Is this is the way you CHEAT THE CUSTOMERS repeatedly in the name of services and spares.

We are having so many brands of cars with us like Honda, Toyota, Hyundai, and Ford and even we are also having TWO SKODA OCTAVIA with us. But we are not having any problems with Skoda Octavia and even with other brands,
Right now our car is in the servicing centre it self and they are asking to change RELAY for which they are charging around Rs.8000/-

As the problems are coming very repeatedly again and again, we are requesting you to replace the car with new one.

If no action is taken in this matter we will take this issue to the Consumer Court as well as to Media. So that people will get aware and every one gets to know that Skoda is manufacturing defected cars and cheating people on the name of service and spares.

Hope, my problem may get solved at least from the head office this time.

Following is the sequence of events and suffering, I have gone through ;

1. Within 1 month of buying the car, a tyre got burst from the side, and the Skoda accepting the poor quality of the tyre replaced it.
2. I got my car’s second service (Free) done at Raipur within the stipulated time, and to my surprise I was charged for the same and told that the free service is done only where you buy your vehicle.
3. When I went for my third service, I was told that none of the earlier service was entered in the log book . This again was strange as I still have the bills for the amount paid on service.
4. There was a slight vibration in the vehicle right from the beginning and I discussed it earlier ( in 2008 only )with service engineer and he also took it lightly and said that it was a small issue and would get rectified by proper tuning only . I also did not take it very seriously and later I had to get the engine head replaced by paying Rs.50000 ( thanks for the extended warranty given, otherwise it was costing more than 1.5 lacs ). Perhaps I would not have paid this amount also, if your ‘highly qualified’ service engineer would have identified this problem within the warranty period . And I seriously doubt this was intentional and I was not told so as to not give a bad signal about the quality/maintenance, as I was about to buy a new Fabia for my brother also which I later did buy.
5. Recently two front tyres (make- Matador) got burst from the side, at the speed of 40 -45 kmph, and I am very fortunate to be alive and writing this mail to you .And if you believe I am not driving your ‘Superior engineered and high quality product’ anymore as I don’t know what will be the next surprise.

All the above does not seem true for a product like Skoda, it seems I am speaking about some down market brand.
I hope all the above opens your/Skoda’s eyes to see what is happening, and I am also very sure this is something you are well aware of, but by virtue of your role you have to pretend ignorant.
My concern now is not with what I have suffered earlier, but about the tyres.

Please rest assured, this time I am not going to let it go and would take it to the highest possible escalation level (even legal /media if required).

Skoda having hand in gloves with their dealers (in Chandigarh) allows them to cheat customers or their key employees receive cut/share from the dealers. Do not be surprised to note that while customers are asked to sit in lounge whether any proper service is done or not. Dealers just wash the car and charge for various works and activities which they do not perform. Do be surprised if your turbo/components are changed during any of service as there is evidence of history of such cases. While been in touch with Skoda India also they just take it easy and evade the issue and go all the way to protect dealers. We must try to contact Skoda International or file case in Consumers rights protection court.
Gurudev Motors- Chennai base dealer has not having proper Service Technicians. I have sent my car (Skoda- Superb) for more than 6 times for Seat Rattling Noise as Compliant, but they were not able to rectify the same and also not given proper attention to rectify the same. They have kept my car in the Service Shed for 13 days and not able to do the needful. I request to to kindly look into this mater urgently otherwise I 'll write to Global CEO for this Compliant.

Don't buy Skoda cars they are just cheaters.
i want share about Skoda Rapid before 5 month i purchase a car. yesterday @ 20:00 hrs not it start immediately i contact person but irresponsible answer. today they take at car @ 11:00 hrs. but they not tell anything from company side. after evening the told problem in injector. then we told change and give part but they answer injector cost is 21000 Rs. but 3 injector problem and service charge. there answer is diesel problem OK i can do what they want replace the part still variety period is there. company MD saying we will check the diesel in Bangalore lab. May be diesel problem u want put money they told as. will put any were diesel. the injector should be work. the injector part is may be duplicate.now the blaming as. so viewers pl don"t purchase the care SKODA. this my advice.

Please see the difference in quotation from your reputed dealer which
shows that either they do not follow the standard practices of Skoda
with respect of the service and prices or Skoda did not fix any
standard practice with respect of service and Prices for their entire
dealers. I would like to know what is the standard practices of Skoda
with respect of the service and prices if it is fixed by the company
for their dealers.

Recent telephonic communication is attached which is very pathetic
that Mr' Sanjeevan said Raghav don't want you to come Nawab Motor but
i will help you,

And you can check how Raghav deal with me too.he said he was not aware
that i will cross analysis the quotation or he don't want to go in
analysis, he just want to know whether i want to get service or not,
He said as per tele-communication quotation 9500 and written quotation
of 7000 is justified, he is not concerned about other dealer what they
quoted . Such kind of reply i was not expecting know i want to know
the exact price of 3rd service from skoda and the standard practices
being followed by dealers.

Please refer the quotation for 3rd service of my Skoda Fabia HR51 AL
4059, which have a difference of INR 5000, Such kind of practice
would create issue and panic between customer, I asked the quotation
from these 2 center because last year my friend paid less than me for
his car service, We both have purchased same car in the same month
same Variant and difference of running is 1000 km Approx only.


So in order to know the reason I asked the quotation and its quite
surprising however on telephonic discussion both asked me for
different price as Nawab motors asked for 9500 however now quotation
given for 7000 and Arshia Motors given telephonic quotation for 13000
however in written they asked for 11000, a part from that in their
quotation there is a difference of INR 5000 for the same service.


I could not understand both are using same engine oil then why there
is difference in cost however VAT is more in UP than Haryana, I have
discussed with Sanjeevan already that quoted price is included all
service tax and VAT from a phone call.


On Phone they asked me 4.5 liter (Nawab) and 3.8 Liter(Arshia) oil is
required in Skoda Fabia by respective center however Nawab motors
given the quotation for 2.8 Ltr only now.


As I working in corporate I knew that the service standards and
process are same all over India for providing the service but the
variation in price of service is quite surprising, I just want to know
why there is difference of quoted price.


And you tell me where should I go for Service and what would be the
best price for the 3rd Service.


I am looking forward for a quick reply from your end. My service is
due on 19/Jan/14.


As usual I have all the telephonic conversation recording with me.

I own a Skoda Superb Purchased in 2012. Rs.28 Lac car is worse than an auto richshaw in terms of Problems and Hopeless Service.

These Skoda workshops just want to make money and are good for nothing.
There is no standard of pricing and just want to add all that can be added in a bill.

No proper place for the owners nor any Customer service.

A regular service takes atleast 2 days at Skoda unlike 60 minutes that TOYOTA takes,

Skoda should do something or else they will be vanished from the indian markets very soon.

Think twice before purchasing a Skoda Vehicle.
DO NOT BUY Skoda Cars, their after sales service sucks! Engine reliability is very poor - my Rapid diesel fuel injectors failed below 30k kms. No response from dealer TAFE Access in Bangalore even after speaking to their so called srvice manager. Spoke to the Skoda service manager who responded after 2 weeks of consistent mails. Result is still the same - no solution to issues and my car is off road for last 3 weeks and no solution in sight either.

My three advices to potential customers - DO NOT BUY SKODA, DO NOT BUY SKODA & DO NOT BUY SKODA.
If you want it as a piece of decoration in front of your house - the right car as it will be immobile once you have issues and off road for couple of months.

First of all I'm writing this email to the core of disappointment. This is only with service with pathetic experience.
I do come from Sales & Marketting department as Solution Architect Manager from one of the renowned company Hewlett Packard. I do have my own self respect.

To let Skoda India know that I'm not a beggar for your Dealer Vinakaya Skoda Service to treat like one !!!

A brief description about CRM Ms. Shantha & her behaviour very unprofessional, unethical, rude, arrogant & pathetic. Vinayaka Skoda never expected a customer would be treated in such manner. Having her team surrounding her & insulting me, what was she thinking of herself, don't I have my own self respect ??

It was waste of time for me, Varsha wasted my time asking to wait till thursday for a positive update but I ended up getting a insulting reply from CRM Shantha, utter waste of time, Vinayak Skoda at service pathetic experience.

First off all the Service Advisor (its important I respect every new guys job, so I'm not going to mention his name) did not tell me that my ABS issue will not be covered under warranty then he mis lead me by charging 5900Rs, thats because he has been trained like that but obvious when you have CRM like Shantha. If VInayaka Skoda wants some fundraiser I will help them instead misleading the customer & looting. Let them keep that money as a CUTOMER GOODLUCK.

An Advice to Ms.Shantha learn some softskill, because customers are not beggars & Ms.Varsha I would appreciate you wasting a customer's time which you requested me not send an email to Skoda India.

Here I don't blame the Service Advisor boy, I blame the kind of CRM Ms.Shantha Vinayaka has hired to be rude to customers

Now when I'm trying to understand why Service Advisor did not help me ?

" Ms Shantha was very rude in her reply telling I'm sorry we cannot cover it under warranty after fixing my ABS, if my bumper paint had come out & when I fixed the painting why would it effect ABS, where is bumper & ABS ??????? For this Ms. Shantha's reply was may be you have met with a fatal accident, did she expect the customer experience a fatal accident or may even die & thats the reason ABS is not covered under warranty", "Why wasn't I educated ??? " In that case starting from now everything issue of my vehicle will not be covered under warranty ?? bcause of the bumper ?? utter non sense talks & time waste. No Brain talks from Ms. Shantha & Varsha. Keep my car 2 days & get the car in return with all dirt & dust. is this is how you treat customer. Oh I see, first check the customer if he is a privilage customer or not. basis on that you differentiate if the customer is privilaged or a beggar & that is why Ms.Shantha had that odasity to speak to me.

"I'm Sorry" which means "Do Whatever you want to do I don't care" is this the kind of attitude of CRM ??. She & her team here in Vinayaka needs to learn not to cheat or misguide the customer.

Ms Shantha was very arrogant to me which made me to put my head down & step out of the service centre.
Ms Shantha is of the worst ever CRM I have ever met, I'm still in a state of shock being at their teams fault she was trying to put the customer at fault end & stating that her team is on right side. The Pathetic CRM I have ever met. The Management really needs some learning & stop mis leading or cheating the customer. It was so disheartening that Ms Shantha was replying me with hypothetical answers.

!!! Is this the SIMPLE CLEVER MOTO OF SKODA !!!
If this was not going to resolve then why was time a waste, straight forward the reply should have been "We here in Vinayaka Skoda like to mislead & cheat the customer, it doesnt matter customer is always at fault & we speak rude & arrogant to customer".

Another Simply Clever MOTO of SKODA, WHEN Ms.Shanta spoke to me was it professional ?? here is the super & professional, Note: the below is based on true stroy & Incident

Pathetic & funniest part is to pick up my car the driver calls me asks "Sir I will come by Rickshaw, will you pay me the money" lol... Looking at Ms. Shantha's proffesionalism then what else I will expect from a driver... Kudos to Skoda India for having such an amazing dealer. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Two yrs back some time during march or april due to natural disaster had a tree fall on my car and had to change the roof completely as the same could not be repaired.
Had left my car for body shop at bangalore vinayaka service center and the needful was done, but after 2 months found few bubbles and cracks on the roof and the same was highlighted to the body shop manager. After checking he told he will call the painter from the company (Skoda) to check and get the same rectified and re-painting was done. As usual after few months could find couple of air bubbles all over the roof.

Had no hopes so dint want to leave my car for re-paint at vinayaka skoda service center and with great difficulty convinced the other service center to look into it and left my car for re-paint for the 3rd time at Tafe service center bangalore. I had detailed discussion with the skoda area managar and was assured that complete care will be taken, i will personally look into the issue & experts from company will come and check and will arrest the issues all such hopes was given but nothing was honored.

Exactly after 2-3 months i am able to see bubbles on the roof and got this to the notice of the area manager and got the same assurance :-)
i seriously don't understand being such a big brand can't skoda rectify the small painting issues ?? does it really take 4-5 attempts for repair ??
this shows the quality of work done from skoda and we as fools have to believe ur dealers and employees.

I need a letter from skoda stating even after 3 attempts they are not able to resolve the issue and need the communication on skoda letter head.
This week will go to Tafe service center and handover the car and you guys can do all required R & D with my car. Really fedup with skoda service. This is not the only instance, damaged tyre was given at time of sale had to fight back to the new tyre, extended warranty was not handled properly and had to do multiple calls and send e-mail to get the same. List can go on and on.

Seriously never thought the service levels will be so pathetic at skoda. Hoping to get the required support from skoda before i escalate the same to the media.
Skoda is still the same, carrying in repo for harassing the customers to its best and then at last last just say sorry.

I have the same experience with skoda (wheelocity motors pvt ltd, JAMMU). For purchase of any vehicle the waiting time is of about a month. So I booked the skoda rapid rider on 04th September 2020 and today is 25th October 2020, the dealer has totally refused to deliver the vehicle after almost two months. I can't share the experience of harassment which I have to go through from the day I booked my car till today for onetime delivery of the car, which I have booked. Every time you ask for availability of car booked, they simply refused and pushed for purchase of higher variant.

Skoda has no value for customer.
Worst experience with SKODA at wheelocity motors JAMMU.

Above complaint is in the name of Didar singh, who has booked skoda rapid rider and is ready to purchase ambition model but now dealer is pushing for purchase of automatic variant, and saying that there is no availability for manual transmission models from the back end.
