Standard Chartered — Customer Care Fraud - I am Baring the Loss

This is with refrence to Standard Chartred Credit Card which I was using for a year.

This credit card was given to me by saying its a free card with no fees for 1year and after which if I am satisfied with the card I would b given a call before 1 month of expiry weather to continue or no. And if I am not interested they will close my card.

Firstly I have not been reeiving the statements from the time I have applied and upon calling they took my new id but unfortunately didnot receive even then.

Earlier in July I had made extra payment of Rs.459/- as I did not know my payment amount.From August to December I still did not receive any statement. I repeateadly called the customer care people but they were so rude and so uneducted that they used to only give me some reason.In December 2011, I finally got frustreated and made the payment as told to me on the call. They had told me the purchase and I saw 4 consecutive Late payment charges applied to my card (August,September, October and November). This is a shock to me. I told the customer care this is not happening as I had informed them about my problem and also the issues I was facing. After that one customer care executive was kind enough on the phone to tell me they will revert the late payment charges but since the due date is already done they cannot revert. To do this, I first have to make the full payment and then in my next bill they would revert the fees. With the words I did do a payment of Rs.1410/- in december.

Since I was sure they would have reverted back as told by the customer care I swiped my card for Rs.698/-.

In Jan I again do not receive the statement and call them and intrestingly they have neither reverted my money back instead have charged me an annual fees of 750/- without my knowledge or consent. This is just RIDICULOUS. This is the biggest shock I could get. There after I called once to the customer care and told will neither pay the annual fees and would want my reversal money which was told to me.

After all this months of story in mean while in March and April I was away from India. My husband tried to follow up with them but they responded that only the card holder would be given information. He also asked if I send a mail will that help and they said no it would not as we have to have details from the card holder.

Since I was away I would definitely not have any means to call. Later the collection department guys started calling and troubling my husband. Finally my husband told I would be back on this date please call later.

Deva from the collection guy called and I explained him the situation. He told he cannot help me in anyways I need to call the customer care people. I called the customer care people and a lady named Rani answered my query. Trust me she was really rude, Impatient, Senseless and above all no manners to talk. When I told her the issue she first asked me to give the Ref no. I clearly told her no one gave me anyref number so I dont have anything. She was like nothing of what u have told is updated. That is not my problem. I am not sitting on the other side to see what the customer care is updating or not.Its sad to see how irresponsible the customer care updation is. Upon saying I do not have a ref no she was like sorry I cannot do anythign its your fault. With what right can she say this..

Upon her reply I asked her to connect me to her manager and she said she tried but its not getting connected. She will arranga call back in 3-4 working days. I was more frustrated as I just wanted to wind up this whoandard chartered issues. It was taking away my life to call all time.

After 3 days I get a call back from Rani's Manager - Babitha . She was kind enough to listen. She said she will arrange a call back from the collection department who would be able to revert back chargess. After 2 days I get a call from the collection department from Deva - the same guy who initially told me to contact the customer care for reversal of my late charges.

Upon talking to him he said he will not be able to do anything I need to contact the customer care.

This was the most intresting statement I could listen as it was just like a circle calling one another but no response or action from anyone. After writing a complain to Standard chartered on friday (25th May) I get a call from them on 29th May - Mustafa from stadard chartered asked me to call Ms.Asha gowda[protected] and he said she will handle and sought out the matter. When I called Asha she said she does not have any idea and she again transferred me to the collection department team to Deva. Deva responded the call and said to pay. It was suprising that I am only doing this calling work and no action or solution is taken.A customer s made a big fool and is just been tortured and troubles with 100's of call from people. This just shows how sad the customer service is of Standard Chartered.

Today my bill is showing Rs.6,146/- for no fault or mistake of mine while I have to pay just Rs.300/- overall (excluding the late charges, Annual fees)

I wonder why will a customer bare an unwanted bill when its no mistake from ere end. Also because of the fault of Customer care executives my credit rating is been reflected.

This is highly serious and critical.I just want to close this account but with my reversal of late fees and annual fees wch is NOT MY FAULT. Amount balance to this I shall pay and settle it. I will not pay 6,146/- with no fault of mine. Its really critical as I am already too tired of talking to these guys.

Request you to take action ASAP as this is very very serious.

One last request please please train your customer care executives properly - especially to be patient and come up with solution and guide to the right person.
