Thursday, Feb 17: I booked for an additional connection. I choose the HD box costing me Rs 2599. I paid the amount on phone.
Atul Verma told me that official max time to service this request is 48 hours but I will be getting a call next day morning.
Friday, Feb 18: Trusting the words of Mr Atul, I took a leave from my office so that I can get the additional connection installed.
The entire day I waited and also called TataSky helpline a few times to get a status update. Everytime, I was told that customer care, sales, and execution are different departments and the engineer will call me directly. The call center guys were clueless about the status.
Saturday, Feb 19: I was dissapointed at wasting a complete day, trusting TataSky customer care personnel. Called back TataSky customer care to ensure I get it installed before the world cup begins, the very reason why I wanted to buy the additional connection. Mr Gaurav ensured me that I will get a call within 2 hours and it will be installed before the world cup begins. I kept on waiting...
Sunday, Feb 20: Still waiting for some response from TataSky, I called back (remember, each time I call, it means a huge amount of time spent on waiting to get to talk to a real human being). I requested to talk to a senior and was connected to Aneesha (employee-id: 42995), supposedly a senior supervisor. I was once again assured that it will be taken care in next 24 hours.
