[Resolved]  Times Of India Chennai — non delivery of newspaper

Address:Chennai, Tamil Nadu

I subscribed to the annual package of Times Of India newspaper (on July 10, 2010... my cell no. is [protected]), but do not get my paper delivered regularly . The vendor either does not deliver the paper at all or does not deliver the supplements along with. I do not get the Saturday issue of Crest or the Sunday issue of Speaking Tree.Today I was lucky to receive the paper but the Chennai Times was missing. I have repeatedly called the help desk number[protected] but no one ever picks up the phone or else it is always engaged . Once I was lucky and the phone was answered by one Mr. Raja who promised to sort out this problem... but obviously he had better things to do , because the problem remains as it was. Is this a new ploy by this newspaper to make money by giving out annual subscription to unsuspecting readers and then selling their share of the newspaper to others. I would request some one to do something about this scam and the public to be suitably aware of these dubious methods employed by this National Daily. The vendor, of course either doesn't take calls or else when he does, is hampered by the fact that he doesn't understand English, so its now proved useless calling him any more or even trying to talk with his delivery boy who too does not understand English. We have lost out on the money we paid and what bothers me more is that in our previous stations (Mumbai, Bangalore etc.) one had taken an annual subscription to other newspapers and not faced a days problem. Is anyone listening?????

I am an annual subscriber of The Crest Edition, Times of India and my Order No. is CREST 00036 dated 25.12.2010. In my area (Koyambedu) we receive the The Crest Edition on Mondays. Two weeks in July I did not get the paper till Wednesday and I contacted one Mr. Amudhan who is said to be in-charge in this part and he connected me to one Mr. Yogesh who is looking after Koyambedu and he promised to deliver the paper but nothing happened. Same delay and promise and one week I did not get the paper at all! I wonder whether there is any proper mechanism to ensure prompt delivery of the paper. It looks as though your people are not interested in redressing the grievance of the subscribers. I am extremely disappointed with your service. I am given the run around and being forced to call every week for my issue which I think is unacceptable considering the fact that I am an annual subscriber. It is Thursday and I am yet to receive this week's edition. I want this fixed ASAP or my entire money back.
Times claims it has maximum subscribers but looks like it does not want to retain them. THey never rectify the problem. We are still stuck with the same vendor and no improvement in service.
