[Resolved]  Times Of India Coimbatore Edition — Arrogant behaviour of delivery boys

Address:Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu

The times of India after aggressive marketing started delivering the news paper from Feb 2011 delayed by a few months against promised date. I switched over to Times of India from Hindu hoping there would be little difference in quality of service if not in content of the news paper. To my dismay and disappointment right from the the day one I have to face the irritating behavior of the delivery boy/agent of the News paper. The news paper is thrown most of the days ( on an average 20 days in a month) in front of the house in the street despite the fact that the my house has got a frontage of 40 feet, the compound wall is only 4 feet high . On many days the news paper is picked by passers-by or flies into the drainage before I could pick up. The agents response to my requests/complaint has gone into deaf after and the harassment continues. Though the news paper wishes " good morning " it is in fact not so due to the fact the delivery boy makes most o[censored]s start the day on bad note. I have enclosed a picture of today's delivery which will I hope speak volumes of things which are left unattended by Times of India Coimbatore in reaching out to the customers.

I agree with the statements of Mr.K.Loganathan of Coimbatore-34.

My case is different that the TOI is not supplied one or two days in a week especially on Fridays and Saturdays. I have taken up the matter with the local Ramanathapuram Paper Agent.Though he gave some lame excuses for not suppling TOI and assured that the same will not occure in future. But it is happening. Even on 01.10.2011 the TOI was not supplied to me. I contacted the Paper Agent but there was no positive reply from him. Perhaps the Paper Agents feels since we have paid money in advance we cannot go away from them. But who knows how many would discontinue subscribing to TOI. It is not the fault of the TOI but the administration of TOI not taking the readers complaint seriously.

Hope to get some action from the TOI in this matter.

I fully endorse the views expressed by Mr.K.Loganathan and Mr.E.Parthipan. The arrogant behaviour of the delivery boys in the morning hours is not in good taste. They don't listen to what we say and they pick up arguments. Their behaviour needs to be discplined. The agents should be held responsible for employing such boys and the agent's callous attitude towards customers needs change. TOI should ensure reasonable care of customers. Otherwise, TOI is bound to loose subscribers in course of time.
