[Resolved]  HTC Touch — touch screen not working

My htc touch is 16 months old and it has started rising some problem. Lastly, The screen is not working as what ever I press the stylus is unable to click on it I am unable to locate any service centre near Navi mumbai, India. My Phone is dead right now. Please help me...

Dear Sir

I bought a HTC Touch phone 7 months back and since past 1 week i have been facing a problem in operating its touch screen. The screen is not working as what ever i press the stylus is unable to click on it.
I tried finding out about your service centre but i was told that there is just one in Okhla. Since m a resident of north Delhi it is highly inconvenient for me to travel all the way to Okhla. It will be kind of you to please suggest me a service station in or nearby north Delhi.
Please note my phone is still under warranty and i still possess the bill of purchase

HTC is third rated phone. I have HTC Touch, Screen not responding. I recommend not to but HTC Touch.

Stop saying HTC is a third rated phone, common irony that ppl using high tech devices know little of them.. Shucha shame..

This is a common problem with many touch screen phones. There are about three reasons this can happen that I know of:

1. Hardware issue. Needs to go in for repair. Hopefully under warranty still.

2. Needs to be re-flashed with the OEM ROM. This is not likely, since you've already Hard Reset, but worth a try.

3. The EASIEST and FIRST thing to check is to run a 'business card' around the edge of the screen between the case and screen. Dirt or other objects can easily get wedged into that area and hold the screen pressed down. This would prevent a press from any other area of the screen. Also, a screen protector that has shifted might cause this. Hopefully this is it, as it's a simple fix!
