I had made a booking through the Travelguru website. I had chosen Woodville Palace hotel as it was situated close to the Mall Road and is a 4-star hotel. The booking was confirmed and the whole amount was paid on Saturday, 7th July.
Today I called up the Woodville Palace hotel to confirm the booking and was informed that no booking has been made in my name. Also I was told that on Sunday, 8th July, the hotel management had informed the website through email that the booking cannot be confirmed due to unavailability and the same was informed to the TravelGuru personnel but the inventory was not updated and hence wrong booking has been made.
My travel to Shimla has been confirmed for 12th July, morning and since as of now I do not have any hotel booking, I am really at a loss. I demand an explanation from them on the above mentioned mistake and suitable compensation through booking in a similar 4-star hotel close to the Mall Road, Shimla.
