RSBY Card No.[protected] 3 was issued by them in Oct 2009.Based on a press release, I went for renewing this card to Municipal Office Ottappalam. Their representative took my thumb impression and after due verification of my card took a sum of Rs.749/- as premium and told me that the card is renewed and eligible for hospitalisation during illness including chronic deseases like cancer and kidney ailments. He did not issue any receipt not only to me but to some others also. Next day one of my friends Mr Anil went with a similar APL card for renewal. He was told that this APL card can not be renewed. As I got a suspecion, I talked to Divl Manager at Palakkad who inturn gave some numbers of the Co-ordinator. He told me that the APL card can not be renewed and the premium amount so collected would be refunded. I sent a detailed complaint dated 3 June to the Insurance Co, Executive Director, RSBY, Trivandrum and to Mr Adoor Prakash, Health Minister, Govt of Kerala, Trivandrum. As on date no response from any one of them.Somasundaran Was this information helpful? |
Rastriya Swasthya Bima Yojana — Non-response from United India Insurance Co
United India Insurance Co being the nodal agency of Govt of Kerala issued card No.[protected]under Rashtriya Bima Yojana in 2009.The card was supposed to have been renewed by them on 30th May 2011 at Municipal Office, Ottapalam as per the advertisement in Malayala Manorama . The Representative of New India Assurance collected the premium amount without issuing a receipt. As the said card can not be renewed (APL) I suspected a foul play. Immediately talked to Sr Manager at Palakkad who also confirmed that the premium amount of rs.749/- would be reimbursed by the Co-ordinator.As there was no response, I had written my complaint to Sr Divl Manager on 3 June 2011. As on date he has also not taken any action. I therefore request a detailed enquiry into this episode. The silence on the part o[censored]nited India Insurane increases my suspecion of a possible collaboration.
