[Resolved]  Videocon D2H — Malfunction of the settop box.

Paying 3000 Rs we have taken a Videocon D2H connection. The d2h connection was not giving all the channels offered. After logging the complaint some thing was done by the Videocon d2h customer care team and there was no channels available to see. From last 3 days there is no action done from customer care or videocon d2h team. The communication done by the videocon team was really poor and too much time consuming. We are in a situation were the Videocon is not able to resolve the issue or even trying for that or ready to pay back the money.

We have faced similar issue with out Videocon D2h.
Its almost 4 days, since we are not getting any channels properly. Everytime we call, customer care says they will try to resolve the issue --etc etc stuffs, but nothing happened so far. And we have so far made atleast 10 calles to customer care. And every time we call them we had to explain this issue again and again.

To summarize this whole stuff in couple of sentences : Service is Total ! and my sincere advice to everyone out there who is gona buy a D2H : Please NO to VideocON !
I have purchased a new product of Vedeocon-d2h system on dt.-13.2.2010 from Vision Parts Point, 218, shopping centre, Kota-(Rajasthan)-ph[protected] of Rs/-1590/-.
The engineer installed it on 14.2.2010.
But from the installation the product is defactive and coming a noise from it. And I have complained your toll free no. and also at service centre kota and the shopkeeper whree from I buy it.

my complaint is that when I Bought a new product why you are not replaced it. The service centre wants to install it after repair but I Want to change it and new set up box required .

There is no to hear my complain. you are requested to please resolved my complaint as soon as possible and provide me new set up box.

I agree. Whole system is down for 2 days and no action on their part!
They can't even send an engineer during the time that they promised- they just keep generating new complaint numbers!

Also, south customers beaware, Cartoon Network and Pogo are available in Hindi only. Dealers hide this issue. Now, kids in our home are disappointed with videocon d2h. Also, if you change channels fast, then settop box 1011 hangs and becomes unresponsive. Sometimes it hangs without reason frequently, and restarting it via remote power button does not solve the problem. You have to physically switch off power and restart the settop box again.

Also, sometimes you dont receive many chaneels and the few channels which you get are mixed up in wrong channel numbes. To solve this, you just have to reset the settop box via its menu. But customer care are technically ineffecient. If you tell them, you are not getting many channels and the channel numbers are mixed up, they ask you to disconnnect AV cable, antenna cable, etc. They dont know that when you are able to see a few channels that means AV connection is fine.
I have registered my compliant with Videocon D2H customer care executive regarding some technical issue with Setup Box.

Call number : 43143591. This call registered on Wednesday at night 9:15 pm. I have told to customer care executive that call will be attend only at evening after 7:00 pm because i am not available in home due to office time. He said that Engineer will call you before coming to your place. But no one received the call to me from Engineer.

Today afternoon i have called to customer care executive for knowing the status of call. this call has been closed because Engineer have attended the call when no one is available on place.

He should be confirm before attending the client call for availability for the same. Now i have got new call number from customer care executive which is 43304887.

Issue is still pending. I hope Engineer will call to me before coming to place.

I agree . Videocon D2H service in pune is absolutely worthless . i upgraded to a HD box after paying 6 months rental, soon after 3 months my remote conked out . It has taken a week of calling, shouting for a replacement remote, but still no response from them . Why the fug do you advertise a HD service if you do not have the remote in stock .. absolutely crappy service . DO NOT GO FOR VIDEOCON D2H HD . take any alternative but no videocon
Pathetic service in pune...Engineer comes to check the issue in set top box and e only checks the box issue by switching off-> on of the power switch...wow what a great work of that engineer...
with these checks only he says box is in stand by mode...so I just insisted to bring back to the normal mode...engineer says no product has to be changed, we are not allowed to open the box... what the hell...
he has asked me to pay 650 for the replacement box which is not the new one...but the repaired one...

People say that try to purchase/deal with indian companies...what is the point in dealing with such companies having such a pathetic service...
I'm from Bangalore North, this is the 2nd year of our VedioconD2H subscription. Last year once there was a software pushed by VedioconD2H and the problem of blank screen cropped up. After several follow up setup box was replaced. Now again the same problem, last month or so there was a software push & now there is intermittent audio & video problem. An engineer visited & blindly says it is the setup box problem. But the setup box was just replaced 8 months ago. What does that mean, is the setup box quality poor or the software testing doesn't happen on all models of setup box?
