[Resolved]  www.MakeMyTrip.com — Complaint regarding my Holiday Honeymoon Package

I am Navneet Gupta and I had taken a holiday honeymoon package (Amritsar and Dharamshala) from your company.

My date of booking - 13/03/2012

Amount Paid- Rs.51,000/-

This package was suggested to us by your executive Mr. Harjeet Singh (Extn : 3877 | Deskline :[protected] | E-mail : Harjeet.[protected]@makemytrip.com)

When requesting him for this package, I had clearly mentioned that I would like to be put up in good and esteemed hotels which are professional and offer the BEST service possible. I also specified that I would like an Innova vehicle with AC and which is in smooth and good working condition alongwith a driver cum guide who was well versed with all the roads and places that were mentioned in my itinerary. Mr. Harjeet was clearly told by me that money is not a constraint and I should be provided with a value for money package since it was afterall my honeymoon trip.

I am really disappointed to share with you that none of my requests were met.

Mr. Harjeet had told me that the Makemy trip team first goes to the hotels registered with your company, inspects them in all departments and only then after satisfaction provides them to customers.


a) Service Voucher no. - H[protected] Dt. 14/03/2012
Hotel Name - Hotel Ritz Plaza, Amritsar (PB)

When my wife and I reached this hotel, we were not even offered a welcome drink or even a warm welcome. Mr. Harjeet had mentioned that we would be receiving a welcome drink on arrival.
Secondly, the quality of food and the variety of food available for hotel guests is third class. Even the local Punjabi dhaba provides much better hygienic and tasty food alongwith a warm welcome.
Thirdly, when we requested at the reception for shower cap or toilet soap we were refused the same in a rude manner.
The room service of this hotel was very poor. The restaurant staff and their service was very time consuming and incomplete. Moreover, the staff did not even know how to communicate properly in English.

Hotel Name - Spring Valley Resort, Mc Leod Gang (Dharamshala) - H.P

Mr. Harjeet had booked a VIP room for my wife and me in this hotel. The staff at this hotel upon our arrival were hesitant to carry our bags. Here too we were not offered any warm welcome or welcome drink on arrival. The rooms of this hotel are really pathetic. There is no lift available in this hotel. This hotel does not even have a locker to keep valuables. The hotel is located at such a place where there are no good hotels or restaurants nearby in the vicinity. We needed a car to travel to a decent hotel for food that was 2 kms away. The only saving grace here was that the food served to us was tasty and hygienic. There are 2 plug points only in the room. One is for the TV and second for the refirgerator. We had lot of problem to charge our cell phone and the room heater provided by the hotel due to non-availability of more than 2 plug points in the room. The VIP room we had paid for was not given to us. We were put up in a normal room. Due to a bus full of tourists who had checked into this hotel at the same time as us and were allotted rooms above us, we had a sleepless night as they were very noisy and cooking food besides constantly dropping things on the ceiling of our room. We called up the Reception twice and placed a complaint but to no avail.

c) Taxi Voucher no. - C[protected] Dt. 14/03/2012
Company Name - R.K Tourism Pvt. Ltd., Chandigarh (PB)
Travel City - Amritsar and Dharamshala

Upon arrival at Ram Dass Jee, Amritsar airport, we were looking out for the person who was sent by this company to receive us. A lot of time got wasted due to him not having a Name Board
(placard) bearing my name on it. The next day another driver came to the hotel to pick us up for sightseeing. This person did not have his duty job card, vehicle R.C. Copy, driving license, pollution certificate of the vehicle, vehicle insurance, etc. The Innova provided to us was not comfortable at all. The driver used to not even clean the car from inside/outside on a daily basis.
The driver provided to us did not know any of the roads of Himachal Pradesh. He had never been to Dharamshala or Mc Leod Gang before. This was his first trip to these places of his life. Fortunately, I have been to H.P earlier and that is how I knew the roads and that helped me a lot.

Regarding this driver I had spoken to R.K Tourism department on phone from Dharamshala. Even yet, he failed to help us. He promised me that he will talk to the driver and explain everything but still the driver was totally new to the city and 'lost in wonderland'. Due to this there were many places that we wanted to visit but we could not do so due to the lack of knowledge of our driver. The driver given to us had a mobile phone which he would switch on at his convenience to speak to his near n dear ones. Most of the time he would keep his mobile switched off and tell us that there is no balance in the phone. The WORST dilemma was that he would tell us to walk all the way back to his car parking stand and would refuse to pick us up eg. from the main market place. Due to this my wife and I had to walk and walk and walk for miles and climb several hills resulting in severe knee pain and cramps for her.

Regarding Mr. Harjeet Singh, I would like to say the following: -

1. I called Mr Harjeet many times on this no.[protected] but he would never pick up the call. Instead, some one else would pick up the phone and tell us that Mr. Harjeet is busy in a meeting/having lunch/in the toilet, etc. Like this I was being mis-lead throughout my trip. Nobody cared to help us or even to listen to our problems on the phone from your Customer Care department. When I called on your Customer care no., I was told that the package has been provided and nothing can be done now. Daily, I tried to call Mr. Harjeet nearly 100 times, but he would pick up my phone after seeing my no. displayed on the caller ID and cut it without speaking to me. Since I was on roaming, I have been heavily charged for these calls.
Please enlighten me as to who would pay all my phone bills?

I have never seen such a worst employee in any company in my whole life. When he wanted me to buy the holiday honeymoon package, he would persistently keep on calling me. However, now he is ignoring me completely and perhaps even feeling embarassed to answer my calls. Is this how you deal with all your customers? If this is how you deal with all your customers, then I have to only say this that I will be going to the Consumer Court and take legal action against your company. In future, I will never advise anyone to buy a holiday package from Makemytrip as I feel you are experts in breaking a trip rather than making a trip. I am going to post this mail on all social websites.

I am sending my mail in writing to your Head Office in Gurgaon.

I am eagerly awaiting your reply. I think that the least you can now do for me is to refund me all the expenses paid by me for my honeymoon holiday trip.

Kindly ensure that justice is done to us and full re-imbursement of my honeymoon package provided to me.
