I am a first time user of Yatra. com and would like to share the horrible experience that I have had with them. I am planning to travel to Goa (from 29th of Jan to 2nd of Feb 2013) with my family, my wife and an infant son (1.5 years). I did the mistake of calling up yatra as the popular resorts that i knew of were booked. I was suggested bagmallo resort by the sales person at yatra. My yatra booking ID is YT 10658194
1. I was told that the cottages are "Best rooms available". Incorrect, as per the hotel they are the worst and the cheapest room available with them and are reserved for backpackers. I am traveling with my family and my infant son !!!!
2. I was told that this is the best rate for the room. Incorrect as per the hotel the rack rate for this room is rs.[protected] for 3 nights) I have been sold this horrible room for above rack rate at rs 20000.
3. On asking if the airport pickup, drop and lunch dinner are included. I was told categorically that all this is not included!!!! The package on hotel site and the booking agent at hotel says all of this is included in the package.
I told Yatra that I would not be travelling on this booking and immediately asked them to:
1. Return back the entire money to me for the hotel booking. I can still book the flights through you.
2. Book me a superior deluxe room floor 4 and above at the best possible cost from your end. I am ready to pay the differential from my end.
None of this has happened and 3 days have passed meanwhile I have figured that the hotel is really not that great and on following up with Yatra for cancellation of booking I am being threatend that the booking is non refundable and that I will have to forfeit the entire amount of INR 20000. Please help in suggesting can they really forfeit the hotel booking amount?? I understand there is no law that allows for this anywhere, where does the Indian law stand on this?
