This morning I received a parcel delivered by Delhivery, and I must say the experience was extremely disappointing and unprofessional.
I had placed an order (COD) for a skirt and top set from a new website. When the parcel arrived, my father told the delivery person that we would need to check the package before making the payment. The delivery agent agreed, and I carefully slit open the package without removing any tags or damaging anything that would prevent a return.
To my shock, the parcel only contained the top – the skirt was missing. Naturally, we refused to pay for an incomplete order. My father explained this and even offered to provide any OTPs or cancellation confirmations needed, as is standard practice with most delivery agencies.
However, the delivery agent rudely refused and said that once the package is opened, it cannot be returned. His tone and behavior were extremely disrespectful. He refused to leave, started yelling, and insisted that we had to pay. He even demanded a written letter and my personal ID proof, which I find completely unacceptable and unsafe.
He then called someone from Delhivery who spoke to me in an even more unprofessional manner, asking me “why do you even order from that website if you aren’t sure about it?” This is NOT how a customer should be treated.
I have received COD orders from other courier services before, and cancellations or partial-order issues are always handled politely with a cancellation OTP or return slip. Forcing customers to hand over ID proof, screaming at them, and refusing to leave the premises is harassment.
This entire experience has left me with a very negative impression of Delhivery. If this is the standard of your service and staff behavior, I would strongly discourage others from using Delhivery.
