DHL Express India — custom charges fraud - random charges applied
Email dated: sat[protected]:59 We have received a package bearing awb — [protected]. This contains trims (Labels, stickers and tags) which are to be used to a product which will be fully exported. There is a custom duty of inr 527.94. However, there are several other charges including the unexplainable (We called the person who sent the email and customer service team, as per their suggestion) “9967-disbursement fee” of inr 550 Place of supply: 09, uttar pradesh Total non-taxable: Total taxable: 527.94 550.00 Advance payment: Customs duty (Reimbursement of cost) 170.33 Igst (Reimbursement of cost) 340.36 S w surcharge (Reimbursement of cost) 17.03 Cess on cvd 0.22 9967-disbursement fee 550.00 [protected]@ 18% 99.00 We do not understand the “reimbursement of cost” items as well. Three questions: 1. Why did dhl fail to inform us if there were any charges getting accrued? Why was this done without our approval? 2. This is an import against export, duty should have been waived off. 3. We have our dedicated cha who is on our payroll, why were we not offered the option to get our merchandise cleared by our cha? Please share the updates for all the points and let us know how does dhl plan to address this towards a resolution? Was this information helpful?
