DHL Express India — DHL India Refused to refund excess amount paid

My name is Kaizer Penwala, proprietor of Hakimi Stationers.
I am writing this email to inform you all of how I have been Harassed by the customer support team in DHL.

On the 1st of September, we were supposed to make our duty payment to DHL (Rs.1.5lacs) for our import shipment.
Due to an unfortunate error by the bank, the payment had been made twice and on the same day, we informed DHL about the same.

They acknowledged it after 8 days after repeated calls and emails. We received an email from them that they will be reversing that amount after 15 days. Although this was unacceptable I respected it and waited for my refund.

The big surprise which came to me was that after another two weeks on the 13th of September we get an email from DHL asking for proof of payment provided that we had given them all the documents like Bank statements and Bank receipts sufficient enough that payment had been made twice.
On top of that, they asked me for a Refund letter, a canceled cheque, and also a bank passbook which does not exist anymore and I felt like I was working with a company from the 19th century.

After providing the requested documents we get an email that the payment will be reversed in another 12 days. This shocked me to my very core and was not expecting something like this from DHL.
I immediately called up the customer support team and got in touch with the customer support team in Byculla and Andheri and they have been the most unprofessional executives I have ever come across.

I am a senior citizen, the amount Rs. 1.5lacs is a big value for me and was not returned to me for a month, my correspondence with DHL throughout has made me realize that they are not intending to pay my money.
After hundreds of calls, they finally refunded my amount after a month.
Had it not been for my continuous effort I would have never received my money.

To everyone out there who is making transactions with DHL please be careful while making any transaction or else you will be harassed just as I was in getting the refund.
