Dear sirs
I booked an express service to send a parcel containing personal item and a birthday gift from the uk on 29/11/17. Anticipating it will be delivered in 5 to 6 working days. (Estimated time of delivery was 3 to 5 days). However the parcel was not delivered until 12/12/17 and the recipient in bombay was forced to make a payment of rs 5730 / £ 60 as custom duty which is irrelevant as the content had no commercial value. You appreciate my frustration and disappointment at service since the parcel was a birthday gift and not only did it reach days later then it was expected but we had to pay twice (Total of £110)
I request you investigate why courier service in india made such unreasonable demand and delivered less then adequate service.
I demand an apology from the indian company (Dtdc) for spoiling what was meant to be a nice birthday surprise and their inadequate and dishonest service. I also need an immediate reimbursement of the extra charge paid by the recipient.
I look forward to a prompt response and assistance on this matter.
