HI my name is Ranjith, and i would like to raise a complaint against Etechies.in for their extremely poor and negligent service. I honestly feel like i have been cheated. I am an employee with dell and i have a dell Inspiron 1525 laptop. Recently when i had issues with my laptop where the system was not powering on and i had figured its an issue with the dc in port and the ac adapter (charger), i had given the system to etechies as my system was out of warranty. I was promised by the rep from etechies after i had explained what the issue was that i would only be charged Rs 999 for the service as it does not require any part replacement. So i availed the service and etechies had sent a tech to be sent to my place which is the only positive aspect of the entire service. I had given my laptop on 21st apr 2012 and it took about two weeks for them to even call and inform me the status of the dispatch whereas i was assured the issue will be resolved within a weeks time. Also when i had given my laptop all the keys on the keyboard were working absolutely fine. I received a call after two weeks stating that the super i?o, pwm ic & 2 mosfet has to be replaced and that would cost me Rs 4150 and also some of the keys on the keyboard are not working and that i would have to pay another Rs 1500 for the keyboard. I work on these computers every day at work and i know for sure that when you give a laptop for a motherboard and ac adapter issue, there is no way it would damage the keyboard. I was very upset but i still agreed to pay Rs 4150 for pwm ic & 2 mosfet but i asked them not to replace the keyboard as i was confident that it was not an issue with the keyboard. So on 18/5/2012 they returned the laptop . When the tech came to return the laptop, i dint have the time to check it properly so just checked if the system was working, To my horror, I noticed some of the keys on the keyboard were not working and i had to use external keyboard. so i just plugged in the ac adapter and checked it was working fine but i dint have the time to check the laptop for the next 10 days as i was busy with work. then when i wanted to go online and check some of my mails . I noticed the same issue on the laptop where the light on the ac adapter s(chargers) brick was flickering and that is when i found out they had not completely resolved the issue. I called them again and they sent another tech to collect the laptop. They took another 4 days to call me and they finally called me and said the ac adapter has to be replaced and it would cost me Rs1700. I asked them not to replace the adapter and bought a new dell ac adapter for my laptop from staples for just Rs 1500. However i asked them to replace the keyboard. Finally when they replaced the gave it back they took more than a month to resolve the issue and they also damaged my keyboard so i could buy a new one. I feel like i ve been cheated off my money where i had to pay close to Rs 9000. I later found out that i not only could have the issue resolved from dell but dell would've given a 1 year warranty after fixing the issue. i have all the bills supporting my claims and would wish to sue etechies as i do not want any other customers to be cheated the way i have been. i have attached etechies test log file .

-The equipment was picked up on for "Power tripping problem"

02/5/2012
- After diagnosis TRC recommended replacement for Super I/O PWM IC and 2 Mosfet replacement, keyboard replacement.
Customer only agreed to replace upper I/O PWM IC and 2 Mosfet, keyboard not replaced as the customer denied for replacement.

19/05/2012
- Post proper repair and QC the system was delivered.

29/05/2012
- Customer called on TFN and reported the same problem, equipment picked up for repairs and taken to TRC.
- TRC diagnosed and found problem with adaptor and keyboard.
- Price quoted for Keyboard and adaptor for replacement, the customer agreed for keyboard replacement and denied for adaptor replacement, and decided to buy the adaptor on his own.

- The equipment was delivered post keyboard replacement after QC.

we are here to resolve our esteemed customers' tech issues with full dilligence and commitment. We believe and practise TOTAL QUALITY EXPERIENCE (TQE). The TQE is incomplete in case the customer insists to go for partial repair. This is what leads to dissatisfaction at a users level.

With all due respect to your company sir/mam, It took 51 days and about Rs 8000 including the ac adapter.
Etechies custmer base is nothing but fluke. They harp on telling their protocol where they want advance payment without doing anything. For a simple visit of their technician to tell that your desktop needs attention of hardware problem and charge Rs, .500/-. They dont want to listen to the customer but are adament on collecting the money which is not due to them.

Today I had the sad experience of my life in dealing with this company which does not deserve to survice in customer based sphere.To support my contention, a copy of Rs.500/- receipt taken by one Mr.Tara Chand can be scanned to Mr.Rohit Choudhary Founder and CEO of the company which is evident of collection of visit charges without ofcourse doing any thing or putting the destop in order but he has come to tell that my destop has hardware problem.

I think it my duty to bring this instance to the notice of the Founder and CEO Mr.Rohit Choudhary to take corrective measures in their customer care department before it gets out of his hands and become a liability for the organisation. Mr.Shakti was totally unsupportive in his conversation and was not prepared to customer but was adament on collecting visiting charge of Rs.500/-.

Thanks to Almight I have been saved from furtheragony at their hands.

    I've an IBM Thinkpad R51 series laptop. As the power connection was lose, I placed a request on Sulekha for laptop repair. I got a call from etechies Gurgaon office, where the sales person made a fancy pitch - that they operate out of 7 cities, they have an ex-Microsoft CXO level executive working with them etc. He also said, that they'll send an IBM certified engineer to my place who will try to fix my laptop at my place. If the problem persists, he'll take my laptop to his service center and will try to fix it. If it can't be fixed, they'll replace the part as a last resort.
    Fees for all this would be 1050 for visit and part charges extra.

    Here is my experience:

    Lie # 1. When the etechie representative came to my place, he refused to check my laptop, stating that he is not authorized to open laptops. He said, he'll have to take it to his service center for getting it checked.

    Lie # 2. etechie guys called me after a day and said that there is problem with my stub & they'll charge Rs. 1300 to replace this. Basically they had no intent of repairing the existing part. I had checked with IBM thinkpad official service center ealier and they had quoted Rs. 1600 for the entire IBM original power kit. Considering that etechies use parts provided by some malaysian manufacturer there is no cost advantage of going to etechies. I would have rather paid Rs. 300 extra for a genuine IBM thinkpad part provided by their own service center

    Lie # 3. After 1 day, etechie rep called me again to inform that, there is issue with my charger pin as well. Replacing that with a genuine thinkpad charger would cost me 4500 or else i can go for a cheap replacement for Rs. 1500.
    By this time they had already taken Rs. 1050 at the time of visit and had asked approval for 1300 for the 1st part. I refused to pay any further, as the quotation provided by IBM was cheaper than the overall cost these people were asking me to pay. Getting power socket fixed for INR 7000 is definitely not a good option for an R51 series thinkpad, with market value of <10k.

    Lie # 4. When i refused to pay additional amount for charger, they said the problem is partially fixed and they'll return my laptop with new stub. However, when their rep came to my house today with my laptop the problem was exactly as it was when they collected it from me. Basically they werer asking me to shell out 1050+1300 for visiting my place twice and making a fool out of me. Plus, there were quite a few scratched on the body of my laptop.

    Now that i've already paid 1050 (non-refundable) to them, i've asked them to return my laptop as it was when they collected it from me. Their rep has taken my laptop back, but am not sure if they'll ever return it without looting me for some additional amount.

    I wish I had given it directly to IBM service center who had asked me for INR 1600+1500.

    Going through etechies is definitely not worth 200-300 bucks you are planning to save (though the probability of even that is very low)...

      etechies collect my dell laptop from home n ask to pay Rs. 2757 as for servicing charge n after 8 days they call me and say this is not a service issue we have to change your motherboard and asking to pay Rs. 8500 + tax. they cheated me and hey don't give my Rs. 2757 back said this is our service charge. plz i want my money back as soon as possible

      Hi e techies,

      I gave my external hard drive to etechies for data recovery and repair. They picked it up on 10th July, and then there was no update whatsoever. I paid them an amount of Rs. 1360 in their first visit. They assured me that the data would be recovered and my drive will also be repaired and it is their responsibility to keep me updated on both.
      The fact of the matter as it turned out to be was that there was no call from their side. I had to make several calls throughout where in my calls were bounced from one call centre support personal to the other, which was an utter waste of time, and added on to my frustration when I had to repeatedly tell everyone the whole story from scratch.
      Ultimately, when I called up today 18th July, they blatantly stated that the drive is irreparable!!! They would still go on to deduct Rs. 500 as their service charge! Now, this has left me with no data recovered, a broken hard drive and Rs. 500 gone in vain and a loss of 8 days. I believe that this company is a fraud, as no one oversees what happens at their service centre. How is one to believe that they even tried to work on the drive!

      Please suggest whether it is justified.

        Hi Sir,
        This is humbly submitted that i had given my mac book pro with the above request id for repairing on 19/10/2011 (picked up date) to one company name ETECHIES.IN , they said it will take 3 days to a week time to repair the system , i enquired at least 10 times till now from 19/10/2011 its been almost a month ,they say they will revert back to me about the status of the system but no revert call was ever received to me from your office , i once personally visit to your malviya nagar repair center which is 28 km from my place they make false promises for delivery ( the one i had a talk was Rajinder ) , now i am really pissed off with there service and there company response first they take payment in advance and then harass there clients like this , i want my money to be refunded .

          service issues
          incorrectly says they are authorised for sony company
          not time bound.
          cannot identify problem
          delver devices with new problem to have future clientèle.
          different people have different opinion and say on the same problem.

          charged Rs. 1050/- for the complaint which was not there and returned with a malfunctioning key board which was otherwise ok.
          resolved now.
          e-techies a overall disaster.Their call center people are very nice and polite.They will tell you lot of stories about the hardware engg, certified professional and batch etc, but ultimately they are worse then a normal people with common sense.I had a minor issue with the DVD ROM(a cd was stuck), which took almost 10 days to identify and in the end they didnt even return my CD saying that there was no CD inside..Dont ever go to this people.They are the biggest crap of this earth.I had to go to their office to collect my own laptop.They didnt deliver the laptop on the day when they promised and also didn't receive my call. JUST STAY AWAY

            etechies collected my laptop stating authorised service providers of sony, the display was not there and it happened overnight. Every thing else was functional as the site engineer collected saying it a motherboard issue. when i got it back some keys were not working and the etechies are not ready to listen to it,
            At the time of picking these were sounding very professional but not actually after they collected the device.
            There was a delay in delivery
            there was a delay in updating the customer about the problem.
            there was no problem in the motherboard (as suggested by site engineer), they told me it was working well when the motherboard was cleaned and fixed back.
            Not ready to provide solution to my problem where my laptop is just 1.5 years old
            the same has been resolved now. Thanks to Mr Rohit the centre in-charge, at least some people are different from Jayant (marketing) an have sense of belongingness for customers.
            Same goes with me.they were quick to take my laptop but not able to answer weather it has been fixed or not.i get contadictory information from everyone whenever i call them.its a pain in the neck.plz do not use their service as they are gud for nothing.no one there knws whats the status of my laptop is.they give me a call on wednesday that its repaired but they will be dilivering it on thursday as there is nobody to deliver that.now its monday and now they say it is not even fixed.whar a waste of time n money.

            This is true!! For collecting the laptop they came to my home within 2 hours, but at the time of delivery they are taking more than 2 days!! This is not the service we required.

            They charged me 1200 Rs, but the only problem is the start button of the laptop is not working... after 10 days when I tried to reach them they told me that some problem with board and they will charge around 3500 Rs to fix it.. This is really non sense... my laptop is ACER, I have already paid 1200 and if I pay another 3500 rs... then with the same money I can get a second hand new laptop itself outside...

            Please dont trust on these guys!!! It is always better we go with local shops... atleast we can see what is going on with the service!!
            very bad service, they don't keep their word and keep telling stories.. service is very, very, very bad.. parts and service is much more priced than apple authorised center (eg: 4k rs charger cost 7.5krs!!) Same for other parts. They even go to the extent of saying they repaired the power IC on the motherboard !! Unbelievable!

            Delivery was promised mutliple times but they said they are near my house but brought wrong laptop, etc etc etc

            Absolutely no integrity... these guys won't stay around for long!

            I was lured by an article in the economic times recently about these guys. I called up customer care and was given huge promises of cheaper service and that "we repair, instead of replace, thereby reducing your costs", etc

            I gave a macbook for servicing 2 weeks ago at etechies bangalore.

            I summarise my experience: Pathetic. The customer instructs one thing, service center does something else. Service center communicates one thing and does the other. I also seriously doubt credibility of the team doing macbook repair.

            Only thing worth commending is the time interval between making 1st call to customer care, and pickup of laptop from home.

            However, I see no cost or quality advantage, infact, deplorable for the following reasons:

            1. They initially quoted price for replacement POWER IC & FAN. When questioned further, they said power IC would be replaced and FAN would only be repaired and cleaned. Why then, did they include FAN in the quotation?? Why wasn't I informed that the fan would only be cleaned. I instructed them via email to REPLACE the power IC

            2. Today I got 3 calls informing laptop is fixed. I had sent a mail requesting INVOICE and warranty for parts replaced/repaired and warranty on issues fixed, and also to return back the replaced defective parts
            a. 1st call was with technician who said everything is ok and that he is delivering the laptop
            b. 2nd call was comfirming the cost, etc
            c. BUT, on the 3rd call, a guy informed me that the POWER IC was ONLY "REPAIRED", not replaced, due to which he can't mention this in the Invoice. This is unbelievable. I cannot understand how he's been able to "repair" the Power IC!? I suspect they're removed it from an older macbook part and put it in my machine. They are charging me 3500/- to "REPAIR" an IC??? I SEE NO POINT IN "REPAIRING" A PART FOR a total expense of 6300/- (2700 + 3560/-) and no guarantee it will work for more than a few hours!

            3. Basic Service cost at apple service center = 1500rs v/s 2700 or so at etechies.

            4. It took them 5 days to just analyse the issue:
            - They said magsafe adapter need replaced which they quoted rs 7500. The price for this exact same product = rs 4000/- in all CROMA stores with MRP = 4200/- on box.

            5. I complained of Skype disconnecting internet. Was told only solution is to reinstall OS!!! I would've expected something more out of their diagnosis.

            6. They 1st informed said battery is dead.. When i insisted, they said battery works but under following circumstance: if we clean terminal and do hot plug of battery when charger plugged in, only then battery works. After few days, they again informed that battery works and charges as normal, and that only when battery is removed, do we need to do hot plug of battery (ie, put laptop on direct power, and hot plug-in the battery)

            7. No way to contact service center, except through emails, which they say they do not receive although support.[protected]@etechies.in is always in CC for all my mails.

            I hope I've been able to convey my dissatisfaction with theirservices. Rest guraranteed I will not avail it again

            Btw, the promised delivery time is past / no callback from technician / sales, and I am yet to get my macbook back.

            They then informed that their server is down and that they cannot give printed invoice and will give manual invoice. I refused.

            I was waiting for laptop delivery since morning. Since morning, technician informed that he is coming. in the evening, he informed that he has reached near my house but that he has brought the wrong laptop and hence will not be coming today! This is very hard to believe !

            ETechies = incompetence ! This is an irresponsibly run startup! I expect more for my hard earned money!
            Do NOT Opt for their service.. most Disappointing.. My Toshiba Laptop's monitor panel and hinges were broken.. and i gave it to them with the 3000 annual plan.. i was assured i would get the laptop bak within a week.. 5-7 days.. i call one week later .. they tell that the parts are not available and will be arriving later that evening or the next day morning.. i call 2 days later same answer.. i call the next day.. he says 3 more days.. 2 weeks up.. i call this time.. they tell they're not getting the part.. and can't keep the laptop for over 20 days.. so they'll be returning it in the same condition i gave it.. i ask for a refund.. they tell they're gonna return only 2300.. the guy says the 700 Rs is for diagnosys and analysis of the laptop.. BULL .. Worst frickin experience EVER.. Never opt for ETechies.in .. Fraudluent company .. contact me a pavanram.[protected]@gmail.com if you have any queries..
            I had worst experience with eTechies.in. They charged me 1500 while taking my laptop for repair. After 15 days, they sent back the laptop telling that they are not able to identify the problem. The worst part is they charged me Rs800 just for carrying the laptop to their service centre and returning back. Also the funnier part is when they first contacted me, the person was so humble and was talking in fluent English whereas during delivery when they told that they are not able to repair but still will charge 800, the guy does not know Hindi or English so that I cannot argue.
            Request ALL not to avail there service.
            This is pure con biz.They claim to be authorised service provider of samsung laptops and flooded me with calls from gurgaon by diff executives. i think they all work on comission - just prawling over the net for google searchers, also in sm kind of tieup with sulekha.com - another dishonest website.they promised all kinds of free service etc that sounded very attractive, then they say, we have to pay the charges of 1240 in advance which includes repair charges excep in case theres a need for parts. 5 days later they called and say the mother board has to be replaced @ 9000/- for my 1.5 years old mini laptop i paid 18 k. They have no knowledge of the local guys.its all on the web, they contract them, get them business and get a major cut.there are a lot of repair centres in every city, if you take and show them, they wont even charge anything if the problem is not solved. Later they say, the terms are at the back. Well, i went by their phone call promises.who has the time to read al that tiny printed terms? huge, huge mistake.they should shut down.

            I also found etechies are actually fraud. There was problem in the display of my dell studio 1558. Earlier they said it is because of hardisk not functioning so they charged me 5600/- .After few days i faced the same problem, then they said it is because of chipset got burn so they asked me Rs 4500/- .But after few days they said that chipset replacement will not work, they need to replace the motherboard itself.so i need to pay Rs 9000/-. I have simply asked them to return my laptop without repair.They just know to collect amount and replace the parts. They know nothing about repair.Anyone who is reading this, please don't believe in Etechies or you will definitely pay the price.I advice you to renew warranty with the laptop manufacturer rather than with these third party frauds.
            When I first read so many comments, I thought the competitor company may be writing all these non-sense. So I decided to give a try. I gave my office laptop Lenovo. They said Rs.1800 service charge. It was for display problem. It was working on external display though. They said we'll fix the BGA issue. If it needs replacement, we've to pay extra. But u have to pay that Rs. 1800 however. I said, why 1800 if no service is done. So that guy tols I have to pay 500Rs. for his visiting. I said no point talking to u guys, just take it & get it repaired.
            They said 6 days. I waited till 10 days, no response. I called up, they said some strip problem, they r waiting for replacement. Then after 2 days they said, it was some IC problem. Then after another 3 days, they told power supply problem, so they have to change the mother board.
            I told them return the laptop. But they are saying I have to pay Rs.1800 as service charge. But for what joy? They didn't do anything apart from keeping it there was 15 days. Why should anyone pay. I'm yet to receive my laptop. I will really not pay a single rupee. I hope they return it. If not, I have to pay Rs.1800 for my company.
            I wish all the companies like Justdial should remove this company from their listing. Never suggest them to any customer. Frauds.
            Don't take chance at all. I'll post reviews after I receive the laptop.
            Ok contd. from my previous post. Yes as expected, these fraudsters didn't give back the money(Rs.1800). They said that is there company policy & they can't refund it back. Real fraudsters. Actually before this I had given it to another service center. They said it was display problem & it needs replacement. But these guys said motherboard replacement worth 10k.
            Now I know how these guys work. They charge 1200 or 1800 to every customer, just keep the system in their place for 10 days & say some huge problem. Majority will opt to take back the laptop without replacement. These frauds get this 1200 just for doing nothing.
            Actually these guys are doing fraud in a legal way. Its just like any chit fund guy taking our money & running off. This company takes money & does nothing, simply tell some replacement, which most will say no & keep the money.
            I think we should blow the whistle before many more get cheated.

            eTechies are the most trained professional cheaters I have ever come across. They have returned my working laptop after replacing the processor and display card in non working condition. To collect the laptop they came within two hours. But to deliver it back I had to call them at least 30 times. Later when I took the laptop to the authorized service centre, they informed me that the genuine parts are replaced. I wish I could have gone through their reviews online before giving them my laptop. When I read the online reviews and complaints, I could relate to them. I had gone through the same ordeal. My ignorance had cost me Rs.16, 000/-. All the affected people should come together to take initiative to close down such ventures so that innocent customers are spared from fraud.
            etechies collected my laptop stating authorised service providers of HPDV6000, the display was not there and it happened overnight. Every thing else was functional as the site engineer collected saying it a motherboard BGA issue. when i got it back some keys were not working and the etechies are not ready to listen to it,
            At the time of picking these were sounding very professional but not actually after they collected the device.
            There was a delay in delivery
            there was a delay in updating the customer about the problem.
            there was no problem in the motherboard (as suggested by site engineer), they told me it was working well when the motherboard was cleaned and fixed back.
            Not ready to provide solution to my problem where my laptop is just 2 years old
            I too had a very bad experience with them. Simple problem of laptop heating up wasnt resolved after i spent 4000/- and i am back to square one. The company/team is really incompetent is resolving anything and i only think they are interested in collecting more money for parts and service which itself is pathetic.
            I also have bad experience with etechies. They say they do chip level repairing. They return product by dong a merely cleaning job. And later they say, the part was not reparirabla nd have to replace and then ask for high amount, which is just unacceptable. Never get in to the chakkar of etechies.

            These people took my laptop with the commitment of sending it bak aftr 3 days.. and ended up sending it after 8 days...!
            The ppl at the customer care are a bunch of dumb who dont understand the issue and keep on repeating the lines that they are taught.
            GIVING THEM MY LAPTOP WAS THE BIGGEST MISTAKE OF MY LIFE !
            For evry other issue the demand replacemnt of parts instead of fixing them ...

            yes they are just wanted to make money nothing else, they have made survey how many peoples in city wise & calculated how much we can earn there main concentration is to collect one time service charge as much as possible just to support they have opened service center not to repair & i believe you know the guy who they are sending to your door step is main concern is to collect money they keep on following with filed guy is the money collected & keep moving him so rudely as much as impossible. they cheating there employees itself they never bother about any customer, better some one needs to wake up & stop these guys cheating more people sucks money from innocence. they purchase the parts in local market & sell them in more than the double price. they have team to wash head & convince. this is how they are cheating & making money, better some one needs to wake up & stop these guys cheating more people sucks money from innocence.
