I am Bhaskar Rao Cherukuri, a customer of EXIDE for the past many years.
This is regarding EXIDE make car battery SNo. A3L1G468202 3B23 purchased on 03 April 2022 at an authorized dealer shop in Paloncha town of Bhadradri Kothagudem dist, Telangana.
The car battery failed within 06 months of purchase on 01 October 2022. It was taken to the dealer for replacement. However, the dealer has expressed his inability to replace the battery and said that it was the company's (EXIDE) decision and he cannot replace it on his own. The battery was sent to the company on production of warranty card and bill. The same battery was returned to me on 17 Oct 2022 after recharging. Please find attached the copy of warranty card and Delivery challan after recharging.
Now within 01 month after EXIDE repaired the battery, it is not functioning properly and showing a voltage of 5.2V when checked with meter. Every time the car battery fails, I have to personally take the battery to the dealer as the car won't start. Also it has caused huge inconvenience with the car not being dependable for my journey.
I fail to understand how a battery sold with the claim of FREE OF COST REPLACEMENT of 30 months and a PRO RATA WARRANTY of 55 months fails in 06 months of sale. Going by the brand recall, I assumed EXIDE to be a worthy company with good quality customer care. With my experience with EXIDE battery in the past 02 months, I am thoroughly tired of EXIDE and its customer care policies. The picture of the battery with the above said warranty claim is attached.
I herewith demand the battery be replaced with a new battery as per the claimed warranty period failing which I shall be forced to take legal recourse against you in the consumer forum as deemed fit.
