Refund issues: flipkart and ws retail

We purchased a hitachi 1.5 t 3 star split ac from flipkart (Seller: ws retail) on 24th april. The product got delivered on 25th april.

As per the information included in the product page offering, which we bought "limited period offer - avail standard installation for rs.501".

I started following up with flipkart for ac installation and kept waiting for the installation team to come and installed the product. On the 29th april after making numerous calls to their customer support i told them to provide a definate date for installation or i would be forced to return it. (Till that time neither they or hitachi had not bothered to call me). I was told that it will be installed by 02nd may morning, but no one turned up on 02nd may but i get a mail from flipkart the same day saying issue will resolve by 3rd may.

Which was again 1 more day which was not acceptable so i raised returned request on 2nd may, citing delayed installation as the reason, as that is one of the reason they provide in their return forms that we have to fill.

On 3rd may flipkart customer care ppl started calling and requested to give them time till evening if they fail to complete the installation by evening *i can go ahead with refund*. Which i agreed but installation team didn't turn up that day also.

So we kept our refund request active. And assuming that we will get our refund in due time, we actually went ahead and ordered another ac and that too from flipkart (Assuming that service of flipkart + other ac provider will be better).

So after putting ourselves to so much convenience, being repeatedly let down. There is no recourse for us to but to return the product and seek full refund and along with that an apology.

As per refund request i would get my money back by 8th may but today on 5th may flipkart executive called me and said they will *not* refund my money. If i want installation (Which they are not able to arrange) well and good other wise i can take what ever action i want to take because as per seller (Ws retail) which is again flipkart own company they can't refund as per the policy.


So few things are quite clear from flipkart priorities, they only get really active when you ask for a refund otherwise your followup hardly matters to them.
And ws-retail + flipkart (Which is a flipkart entity if i am not mistaken) dont work int he best interest of the buyer.Their moto of 100% buyer protection is basically a farce a marketing line with no commitment to back it.

Flipkart has failed to fullfill their commitment on multiple accounts.
1. First they failed to provide the installation on providing multiple occassions.
2. They have not honoured the full product offer, of standarad installation at rs501.
So they have not really delivered the full product but have charged for the full offering.
Which is probably cheating
3. Then they refused to refund the money, which also they had committed to do if the installation was not done per their promised date (3rd may.).

Its a sad state of affairs from a co. Who gained their market-share through customer focus.
So far i have spent so much money transacting on flipkart, this will be the last.
