[Resolved] Flipkart — gift voucher unused balance being forfeited without notice/extension
Kindly wish to bring to the notice of flipkart about recent gift voucher amount forfeitede or with out notice or extension. With reference to incident id - in[protected], raised on 30th of january, 2020. I'd want the issue related to gift-voucher expiry be resolved appropriately by flipkart. On 30th of january, i wanted to make few purchases on flipkart using rs 2600 plus gift-card voucher balance in my account, but to my utter shock my balance was zero and i could not track any available balance. I immediately alerted the customer-care about this. Over the course, i complained to several flipkart executes about not able to use remaining balance amount, and i was informed that the unused amount expired on on 28th january i. E, 2 days prior to my notice and money is forfeited. I was utterly disappointed to this, and asked why i did not receive any alerts or notification when its due expiry like i receive from other online stores like amazon etc. I also requested them to extend its validity just by a day so i can still use it. Each encounter with an executive gave contradicting reply that i can still use some rs 1500 which is not yet credited to account or i may get a extended new date to use the gift voucher. Lastly, an execute informed that my hard earned money which is still remains unused, which i paid to you as an advance through gift voucher mode to be used in the future has been forfeited. Why did flipkart fail to send me any notification/alerts/emails regarding gift-voucher is nearing its expiry, when i receive tons of notifications about sales promotion etc. Is flipkart selling gift voucher as an final product / servies? Perhaps we use it as means to buy product / services.in such case, why does my money paid as an advance to you have an expiry date for only a year? If flipkart has reserved it rights to forfeit our money through its misleading clauses, is it not my right as an customer to be informed forehand before forfeiting it? What are the rights of a customer here?? Is to watch our hard earned money disappear from the account with no notice or alerts? When you send tons of notifications about sales, shipment tracking, stock updates, then why withheld sending notification of voucher expiry?? Now that flipkart has revised its return policy, limiting complete returns to only few selected category of product and remaining offering only replacements and no returns. We customers risk buying products online without seeing/touching physically or any other parameters, just blindly believing in your limited descriptions, product pictures, seller ratings and few listed buyer reviews. While few products arrive to our expectations, while rest may not. Over past few purchases i have made purchases over rs.70000 plus through flipkart, and many a times i have received substandard goods some soiled, broken, torn, low product quality and many cases not match the required dimensions or quality we wanted. However, we trust and are lured to buy online merely because its convenient. Now with flipkart revising its policies in order to protect itself from its misleading trade practices, why should we customer be prey for your fraudulent and misleading trade practices in name of 'gift voucher' scams. Please note this gift-card of value rs 6500 was not offered freely by flipkart during any sales promotion, nor was i getting any additional discounts using gift voucher. And, i still have rs 2600 plus unused in my user account. I request flipkart to look into the matter with atmost care, and allow me to use the remaining balance amount. Thank you Regards Veena Was this information helpful?
