Dear Concern,

I would like to bring your attention regarding on serious & common problem with Ford Ecosport. The clutch become quit harder and its not working properly. From the first impression it appeared like a clutch problem to me. Later the service center called me and told me it is a clutch plate problem. They told me it is my fault, I don't know proper driving, you use clutch too much and company told they wont pay for it and I should bear the expenses.

I drive my car single handed around 16500 km till date. I have 11 years of driving experience and driven more than 20 lakh km and have not faced similar issues in other cars but service center clowns had the nerve to blame to me for the clutch problem. This is definitely a case of faulty clutch plates. Kindly help me in this case as the replacement charges are very high and fault is not on my side.

I think there is drastically some problem in ecosport clutch, as i see so many owners are complaining about clutch problem. Now this is the time company has to seriously look into the matter rather pointing fingers on the customers. Its better to recall and check for the problem.

I know very well you guys would not be surprised to see this email because same issue already raised by many customers & you guys are master and know how to handle your customers. You should try to investigate the problem in proper manner instead of start point out and blame game with your customers. This type o[censored]nprofessional and arrogant attitude definitely will effect your business sooner or later. I am going to share some data here and see how you guys are serious and capable to resolve your customer complaints.

The customers would not expect this kind of response from such good reputed company.

Ford has been in news over its recall of EcoSport in Australia to fix a problem with the wiring harness that connects the curtain airbags, seatbelt pretensioner and side impact sensor. Now it appears that the same issue has affected the SUVs sold in India too.


Currently car is at below service center: My complaint number: {SrvReqNo:[protected]}. Pls see what you can do from your side and help me this. Brands like Ford have a standard and cannot blame customers in this way. Chassis number: MAJAXXMRKAEA53050 (Service center: M/s Harpreet Ford, SSI - Jahangirpuri New Delhi-110033. Yesterday i received a call from services station regarding wave-off of 25% but i refused that proposal and i am very much clear on this i am not going to pay any single Rupee for that. I had a very bad Customer Experience there and made me think that there is not Customer Value Management and Customer Satisfaction at FORD Service centers.


I would like to discussed one more experience with Ford company. When i purchased my Ford Ecoport car (DL 10CF 7323) from Harpreet Ford G-3, Sewa Corporate Park, M.G.Road Behind H.P Petrol Pump Gurgaon Near Iffco chowk 12210 Gurgaon-MG Road. There were two gentleman's Mr.RAVI KANT(+91-[protected]) & Mr.MANOJ(+91-[protected]) both were working as a Sales head & Sales Executive in above mentioned branch. They promised me to provide car Fog lamps free of cost worth of Rs-9000/- but unfortunately still pending. When i tried to get in touch with both guys they don't have gutsy to reply my call latest. There are so many gap in commitment V/s delivery.


Please share your grievance to the MD email id is nothing but an eye wash and all the communication remains in the cold storage without any action. Inaction will substantiate this inference and must be shared with masses at large this inaction as an evidence.


I request you to please study and revert immediately if at all you have concern for your customers or else will be assumed that you are requesting me to take up the matter with masses at large through print and electronic media and also to initiate legal action under specific sections suitable for customer rights.

i have ford ecosport diesel .Bangalore KA01MK8883. regn no. at around 17000 km s ihad to replace the clutch plates at lathangi ford .i have now driven around 32000 km again facing the same problem with the clutch. there is something serious problem with clutch of ecosport.i think we should get in touch with right persons of ford. i had owned ford fiesta and drove around 40000 kms without any problems with clutch.the service people are trying to find faults with driving .instead of accepting theres faults. they have to replace it without any charges,
I am Dr.R choudhury. I have bought the all new Ecosport on 5th off december 2017. Since my first drive I have been facing a hard clutch issue. The clutch pushes the foot so hard while in slow drive (in traffic) that my foot started to hurt real bad. Have complaint about the same during my first servicing when the service people told that its a hydraulic clutch so its supposed to be like that.They did some adjustments in clutch but it didn't help.
Again on 5th of march they took my car after my repeat complaint and changed the entire clutch system. This time the clutch pressure is little better but it still hurts when driven in slow traffic.

As a DOCTOR -THE MEDICAL ASPECT:

A continuous pressure exerted on foot by clutch may lead to PLANTAR FASCIITIS (Plantar fasciitis is a disorder that results in pain in the heel and bottom of the foot.) The constant pressure of pushing on a tough clutch or accelerator puts stress on the muscles, joints and tendons of your feet and ankles. Over time, this pain can spread to your knees, hips and back.
I myself facing this issues and sometime regret buying the car.

I would ask FORD INDIA to take immediate action against the matter so that we may avoid legal affairs as per as consumer’s health is concerned.

PS: Ecosport owners please don’t loose hope. I have few more doctor colleagues who are facing the same problem and are ready to certify the health hazard.

Hello Group

I am also Fool once and Victim twice .My car Ecosport, year -2016 .Brokedown at 12000 KMs and clutchplate replaced and billed me 13K .Blamed my 10 years of driving experience and funny blamed the foot mat
Service center might be run by clowns not mechanical engineers

Now after 4 months and at 19000 Kms, same old Drama repeats - Car brokedown, Tow, Service center gives me gyaan about my driving and this time they invented a concept called half-clutch which has caused this problem it seems, billed me 14K

Is it way of life (too much drama) for ford ecopsort customer every 4 months or 5000 kms .

Please let me know how do we like to fight this in consumer court

Even i m facing the same issue of hard clutch. i was reporting this issue from 23 k kilometer. but they said it is my fault & i have to replace it. also they said you can drive for 20k more & then we replace like that. now my car is at 40k, clutch becomes too hard & i see difference in pickup.

i m worrying about 2 things:
1. i have to bare full amount to replace the clutch which is not my mistake.
2. Even if i replace the clutch, there is no confirmation that it will solve this issue.
Even I have the same issue of power loss and jittering experience in my Ford Ecosport which been driven only for 23000 Kms.

I had visited Dhone Ford Warje Pune today and was informed this is a clutch problem and they need to replace Clutch Kit which will cost me totally Rs. 8000/- approx.

Since I am travelling with my family extensively this summer vacation so had limited option but to get the Clutch Kit replaced.

Even the service advisor was surprised to see Clutch issue developed as early as in 23000 Kms. and suspected driving style issues.

My Ecosport is in warranty period but was informed since this was user driving issues this will not be covered under warranty.

I have used almost 15 vehicles in my life from almost all manufacturers from India as well as Abroad however neve ever had any vehicle developed an Clutch Malfunction problem.

Hence I can safely say it may not be my driving style that caused the problem because the vehicle is driven singlehandedly by myself
Hi I am facing the same issue. I have driven my Card 56k miles and clutch and hard clutch problem started after 35K. Ford is responsible for the same
Facing the same issue again. My Ecosport Diesel clutch assembly had to be changed just after 1 year/15k kms. The car was broken down on a highway and it was not moving. Now its close to 2 years, I've given for 30k km service. Recently an issue started to develop, a humming noise at speeds above 60km/hr. The service adviser is suggesting the clutch is getting harder, and I need to change it again ! And as usual they are blaming on driving habits. So, it looks like clutch needs to changed every year ! And, I've a 10 year Alto which is used only for city driving (half clutch), and the clutch was changed only once !! Guys we've to get together and fight against Ford. There is a facebook page:-

I would suggest the suffering owner's to join this group. Let's get a good lawyer and file a case against Ford ! Why we should suffer individually when Ford is easily escaping blaming the driver.
Same issue. 47K kms and this is the third time I am having to replace clutch plate. That's roughly one clutch plate for every 10K kms or one year in my case, which takes the annual maintenance to Rs. 20K per year!
I from Nepal and I also have same problem of hard clutch. The company said its like this and it should be changed. They don't take any responsibility. While it is certainly faulty material from the company. I continue to drive without changing only to face big problem. Now gadi is stuck and mechanic says clutch plate, pressure plate and bearing is fully damaged and need to br replaced. This #Ford is a cheater and its a thug #FordisThug

Same issue almost completed 1 year with 16 k km driving nad clutch failed down . It was harder earlier and was noticed while in 2 nd service but still problem persists and It is painful that in express way clutch failed when i was with family
We also face the same clutch issue. Our car is stop moving on highway. It was toyed to the nearest service centre. Where they asked me 30000 for complete clutch assebmly replacement. When i rejected asking how in 1 year the cluch assembly can damaged, first they tried to blaim me for driving, this is frustrating as i have driving experience of more than 15 years . Then next day they told they will open the assembly and can give exact cost again.
It is shocking that clutch can go within a year. We cannot afford every year a new clutch and company should accept that there is serious concern from many customer and Should think about costumer sensibly.
One side company is claiming of lowest maintenance cost.
I am also facing the same issue. The clutch is so hard now that I am using bandage on my knee. When I called dwarka ford to find out why its happening then its the same old story that it depends on your driving skills. This is my 4th Car and 2nd from ford but this is the first time I am facing this issue.

I have purchased EcoSport 1.0 Ltr. Ecoboost Engine Titanium + version in 2016. I am also facing the same problem of hard clutch plate for almost a year. Now in this time while service I have asked about the same and they are replacing the clutch set for 17K price from me, though I am having 3 year (extended) warranty. The kilometre reading of my vehicle is 1 around 17.5K only. Facing this problem when it was 12K run only.

I am seeing this problem with many buyers of Ecosport.
Reading the comments makes me wonder why dint i cross check this before i bought my Car Eco-sport platinum edition car .
During the last two service 10K and 20 K i had complained about the clutch being hard and Jerking effect when we release the clutch, I was assured that as the Vehicle is under 1lakh or 2year warranty they will do the needful. As my 2 year warranty is coming to an end i gave the vehicle for a full checking and listed the issues faced by me. Initially i was told that "Everything is fine with clutch" when i insisted that the Clutch isn't smooth and the Vehicle jerks, finally they said they "Will Check" . After a 2 week wait i get a call saying " The clutch isnt covered by factory warranty " !!

This is news to me ... Then what exactly is covered by warranty ? A car main constituents are the Engine and the Transmission system which is the one which does the continuous work, A electrical item dosent undergo wear and tear but a Mechanical items does, How long will it service is the question which the Company assures us like 2 year factory plus extended if needed,
Now if the Company disowns its own products performing then what is the joke in offering warranty in first place ? A car driven out of the show room surely will experience wear and tear and the manufacturer is bound to give the buyer a assurance of something so we can be assured of trouble free driving, .

Now waiting to get my Lawyer send a legal notice...

Hi This is Suja Rajesh from Pune. Same issue is faced by us too. Once we had to be on the road side almost till mid night due to this clutch issue. Its the fourth year and its the fourth clutch that we have purchased by sending from my pocket. Clutch plate wears out in a years time. Once we had sent a mail to Ford, but they have not resolved the issue. Selling this car which almost costed 10L and buying a new car is not easy for a common man, So continuing with the same. But every year we have to change the clutch and we used to travel to Kerala from Pune. But due to the previous experience long drive in Ecosport has become a nightmare. They simply offer 24x7 on road service. We were on the road side for almost 5 hours, but no help was provided as they promised while purchasing. Rest all features are excellent, but this single problem dimnishes the glow of all. Kindly look into it and let us know what the best the company can do for us. Throughout life we can't keep changing the clutch by spending a worthless 20000[approx] for purchasing a new clutch.
