Dear Concern,

I would like to bring your attention regarding on serious & common problem with Ford Ecosport. The clutch become quit harder and its not working properly. From the first impression it appeared like a clutch problem to me. Later the service center called me and told me it is a clutch plate problem. They told me it is my fault, I don't know proper driving, you use clutch too much and company told they wont pay for it and I should bear the expenses.

I drive my car single handed around 16500 km till date. I have 11 years of driving experience and driven more than 20 lakh km and have not faced similar issues in other cars but service center clowns had the nerve to blame to me for the clutch problem. This is definitely a case of faulty clutch plates. Kindly help me in this case as the replacement charges are very high and fault is not on my side.

I think there is drastically some problem in ecosport clutch, as i see so many owners are complaining about clutch problem. Now this is the time company has to seriously look into the matter rather pointing fingers on the customers. Its better to recall and check for the problem.

I know very well you guys would not be surprised to see this email because same issue already raised by many customers & you guys are master and know how to handle your customers. You should try to investigate the problem in proper manner instead of start point out and blame game with your customers. This type o[censored]nprofessional and arrogant attitude definitely will effect your business sooner or later. I am going to share some data here and see how you guys are serious and capable to resolve your customer complaints.

The customers would not expect this kind of response from such good reputed company.

Ford has been in news over its recall of EcoSport in Australia to fix a problem with the wiring harness that connects the curtain airbags, seatbelt pretensioner and side impact sensor. Now it appears that the same issue has affected the SUVs sold in India too.


Currently car is at below service center: My complaint number: {SrvReqNo:[protected]}. Pls see what you can do from your side and help me this. Brands like Ford have a standard and cannot blame customers in this way. Chassis number: MAJAXXMRKAEA53050 (Service center: M/s Harpreet Ford, SSI - Jahangirpuri New Delhi-110033. Yesterday i received a call from services station regarding wave-off of 25% but i refused that proposal and i am very much clear on this i am not going to pay any single Rupee for that. I had a very bad Customer Experience there and made me think that there is not Customer Value Management and Customer Satisfaction at FORD Service centers.


I would like to discussed one more experience with Ford company. When i purchased my Ford Ecoport car (DL 10CF 7323) from Harpreet Ford G-3, Sewa Corporate Park, M.G.Road Behind H.P Petrol Pump Gurgaon Near Iffco chowk 12210 Gurgaon-MG Road. There were two gentleman's Mr.RAVI KANT(+91-[protected]) & Mr.MANOJ(+91-[protected]) both were working as a Sales head & Sales Executive in above mentioned branch. They promised me to provide car Fog lamps free of cost worth of Rs-9000/- but unfortunately still pending. When i tried to get in touch with both guys they don't have gutsy to reply my call latest. There are so many gap in commitment V/s delivery.


Please share your grievance to the MD email id is nothing but an eye wash and all the communication remains in the cold storage without any action. Inaction will substantiate this inference and must be shared with masses at large this inaction as an evidence.


I request you to please study and revert immediately if at all you have concern for your customers or else will be assumed that you are requesting me to take up the matter with masses at large through print and electronic media and also to initiate legal action under specific sections suitable for customer rights.

I am Dr.R choudhury. I have bought the all new Ecosport on 5th off december 2017. Since my first drive I have been facing a hard clutch issue. The clutch pushes the foot so hard while in slow drive (in traffic) that my foot started to hurt real bad. Have complaint about the same during my first servicing when the service people told that its a hydraulic clutch so its supposed to be like that.They did some adjustments in clutch but it didn't help.
Again on 5th of march they took my car after my repeat complaint and changed the entire clutch system. This time the clutch pressure is little better but it still hurts when driven in slow traffic.

As a DOCTOR -THE MEDICAL ASPECT:

A continuous pressure exerted on foot by clutch may lead to PLANTAR FASCIITIS (Plantar fasciitis is a disorder that results in pain in the heel and bottom of the foot.) The constant pressure of pushing on a tough clutch or accelerator puts stress on the muscles, joints and tendons of your feet and ankles. Over time, this pain can spread to your knees, hips and back.
I myself facing this issues and sometime regret buying the car.

I would ask FORD INDIA to take immediate action against the matter so that we may avoid legal affairs as per as consumer’s health is concerned.

PS: Ecosport owners please don’t loose hope. I have few more doctor colleagues who are facing the same problem and are ready to certify the health hazard.

I'm facing a similar issue of hard clutch pedal. Supervisor at a nearby Ford Dealership (KS Ford, Jaipur) told that they need to replace the clutch plate and pressure plate to rectify this issue. I tried to reason with him that there is no issue in gear shifting Therefore the culprit isn't the clutch plate. I am a mechanical Engineer and know what I am talking about, he wasn't convinced anyway.

I'M also facing same, yesterday while driving pedal plug came out it's looks like wall Fischer.
I am also facing this problem, last day we went on hilly area and my EcoSport started smell like tyre burn when I checked it was clutch plate smell. I called Pearl ford, Ambala from where I purchased EcoSport, the service manager said it was yours fault. Now service manager said, clutch plate will replace with new ones. I drived my car only 13500km.

I faced exactly same issue..my car drove only 8000km ...nd the clutch kit got worn out ...the service centre ppl are blaming it on ur driving..we used wagonr for 9 yrs without any complaint...any pointer?

Same issue here as well. My EcoSport Diesel Clutch worn out in just 1 year, 15000 kms ! The car was broken down on highway and had to be towed to nearest service centre. Tried my best to get this covered under warranty, but Ford just blames the customer and driving conditions. They are not even brothered to do any investigation and find root cause of the issue. Pathetic. Guys we should get together and go to consumer court. I am planning to start a Facebook page for this so that everyone facing similar issues with Ford can share their experience. I am also facing the same issue brother. My clutch is also became so stiff just after 15K kms of replacing it. And complaining to ford gave me a reply saying that it's drivers issue. I have driven lakhs of kilometer with many other cars including VW polo, and even ford freestyle. And never had this issue, and then still they blame me for the clutch problem. I am also thinking moving legally. If any one else want to join can call me @ 9940339932
I am also pay for clutch complaint now definitely i won't refer ford vehiles as i am structural consultant i can do as much as possible

My Ford ecosport 1ecoboost have the same tight clutch issue . This give high pain on your left leg even after a short drive . Ford motors India -kindly look into the matter and recall vehicles to solve the issues .

I am also facing same problem with my ford ecosport titanium diseal .only after 30000 km drive its clutch became very hard ..while pushing it gives very hard back force...it is become knee pain.
I asked to my ford service center( VGO ford faridabad haryana )the manager of service center told me that ..it is my fault. Because of my rash driving clutch system has burn...they ask for 13000 rs to change clutch.

I am facing the same hard clutch issue in my Ecosports Titanium (D) after running 35K KM. Service adviser blamed the rash driving for the damages of clutch . However this car was driven by me only and I am very cool driver. I had not faced any issue with my other cars even after running more than 75K KM. Hard clutch is common problem of Eco sports which Ford India is not accepting. This will ultimately impact their brand equity in Indian market and never match the Maruti & Hyundai customer service level. [protected]@gmail.com
I am also facing the same issue in my Ford Ecosport titanium diesel car after running 50k KM. My clutch gives hard back force when pressed and it is aching my knees. I had reported the issue with the Ford Service Centre Trivandrum. But service manager is suggesting to change the clutch assembly as there will be such hardness for Ecosport which had run a bout 50k kms. I am very much sure this is a case of clutch manufacturing defect that it gives up quite early during its lifetime. Earlier I had Ford Figo I didn't face any issue till I have sold the vehicle at 80k kms. Let us all unite and bring to the Ford India's attention about the faulty oem clutch assembly.

I bought my vehicle in 2015 and till today I have driven for 30K miles. I had similar clutch issue and as usual I was blamed by the service engineer. Even though I liked the Car very much such things are disappointing as I have close to 20 years of driving experience and I have never faced such issues in other Cars.. They have quoted me around 16k to fix the same. I am from chennai and gave my car for servicing in Eureka Ford
