Godrej Appliances — Harassment, humiliation and threatening by godrej representatives

Dear Sir/Mam,

I am writing this email being harassed by the Representatives of Godrej, who does not have manners to talk to its customers and on the other hand threatens them of dire consequences if they wish to complain against them.

I am owner of a Godrej AC. Till 9th September 2016, when I left for my hometown, everything was fine with it, however when i returned on 13 September, it was not doing any cooling. Being aggrieved, I, on 15.09.2016, made a complaint with Godrej Care and requested them to look in to the problem of my AC. I was promised that the technician of Godrej will visit our home on next day. However for the whole next day, nobody came and we kept on waiting for the technician.

On 17.09.2016, a technician named Shivansh came and after checking AC, informed that there is no gas in the AC and it needs to be refilled. when i asked him to get it filled at my home only, he informed that it is not possible as it is Godrej's policy that the whole AC will be taken to Service Centre and then it will be refilled. I raised doubt over that however he bluntly refused to fill gas in AC at my home and said that some other technician will come to take AC and demanded Service Charge of Rs. 500/- from me. I showed my anger over his demand as he had not done anything although I gave him money and asked for receipt but he did not give any and told me that the receipt will be provided to me from the person who will come to take AC on 18.09.2016. Shivansh also informed me that the charge for refilling gas in my AC would be Rs. 2700/-.

I complaint about his this behaviour to the Godrej Customer Care on 19.09.2016, however no action was taken and no body came to take AC on 19.09.2016.

On 19.09.2016, Monday, some persons from Godrej came to take AC and specifically wrote on the receipt that Gas is leaking however these persons also did not give me any receipt of the money given to Shivansh. On the other hand they demanded Rs. 500/- again from me on the pretext that they need to pay it to tempo for carrying my AC to the Work Shop, which i initially refused to give, however when they refused to take my AC to workshop until I pay them money, i was forced to pay them Rs. 500/-. At the time of handing over my AC, it was clearly understood between me and the person taking the AC that the AC will be returned after refilling the Gas on 19.09.2016.

Thereafter on 20.09.2016, i got a call from some Yogendra Sharma, who introduced himself as Supervisor of Godrej Authorised Service Station and informed me that the coil of my AC has been burnt and it needs to be replaced also and demanded Rs. 6000/- for the said repair. when i told him that the AC was alright, except the Gas Leakage (as informed by Shivansh), he said that this problem he has come to know after checking the AC and he will not repair it until the advance is paid to him. for which he gave me an address for paying the money.

Upon it, i gave him number of my husband Prashant Shukla, so that my husband can pay him money for repairs while returning from his office.

Thereafter Yogendra Sharma, called my husband and when my husband told him that the money will be paid after the AC is installed, Mr Yogendra Sharma, abused him and said that the AC will not be given until advance of Rs. 6000/- is paid, to which my husband refused. My husband also asked him to show any rule of Godrej Company which states about advance money, he said that this rule is made by him as there are many 'kangle' customers like us which do not pay money after getting there appliances repaired. it is also pertinent to mention here that when my husband told him that he will file a complaint against him, Mr Yogendra Sharma, hurled abuses to him and threatened him of dire consequences if he files any complaint.

We are writing this complaint, being highly aggrieved by the conduct of the representatives of the great and esteemed Godrej Company, which boasts itself of best quality services.

We both (Anushree and Prashant) have a few questions from Godrej, hope we will get satisfactory replies for these:
1. Whether it is the policy of Godrej to receive money without receipt?
2. Whether it is the policy of Godrej to harass and humiliate it's customers?
3. Whether it is the policy of Godrej to receive advance money for the services, which are not yet provided?
4. Whether it is not the policy of Godrej to take actions against it's representatives?
5.

we both are writing this mail jointly as it was a matter of grave concern and we are seriously thinking of taking a stern legal action against the Godrej, which includes civil and criminal actions.
