Godrej Appliances — single door refrigerator is defective and needs to be replaced | |
I have purchased a godrej refrigerator with 2 years warranty from croma on[protected] and here are the details: Product: godrej ref dc 190l rde pro205tdf3.2 mgnt Serial number:[protected]dr00326 Attached herewith is the invoice of the product. I have been facing a lot of trouble with this refrigerator ever since i purchased it. Till date, we have made 3 complaints against this product and here are the details: 1st complaint: we face power fluctuations in our area but it is not frequent. The product worked well for the first month (February 2019) but once when the electricity went off for about 10 minutes, the machine started and was working but suddenly it shut down for about 17 hours in the night and we were not aware as the light was still on. We lost 4 litres milk which got spoiled and had to be thrown out and all other vegetables got spoiled. We called the mechanic (Complaint number: b[protected]) and he said the machine is working fine now and he advised us to buy a stabilizer which we did. Please note that there is an issue with the defrost button as well and when the mechanic told us to defrost the machine, he also noticed that the button falls off and is not proper. 2nd complaint: in about a week, the machine again shut down on its own and when i just pushed the door slightly after 12 hours, the defrost button came out and the fridge started working again. I had already called the technician (Complaint number: b[protected]). He visited my place and repaired the machine and we got to know that the whole machine is defective and keeps shutting down with/without any power cut. The mechanic had set the temperature to medium and left. 3rd complaint: this month, we noticed that too much water is accumulating on all the shelves of the fridge, the freezer had too much ice formed, our vegetables got spoiled and dhaniya too was soaked in water and spoiled and hence we defrosted the fridge. We also noticed that there are power fluctuations taking place since a week. It did not start even after 11 hours till we had to manually take out the defrost button after which the fridge started in 15 minutes. We called the technician to check this issue (Complaint number: b[protected]) but he did not do anything regarding this and said the fridge is working fine and it may be a problem with the stabilizer. We complained later for a replacement and the technician visited our house saying thermostat is defective and needs to be replaced. We have brought this refrigerator as we trust the brand named godrej and have owned the company's fridge earlier for 15 years which has not given us any trouble but this fridge is defective as it not only has a cooling issue but also causes power fluctuations. We cannot put the fridge off as well as our milk and other products will get spoiled. We are highly disappointed with the product and hence we don't want the fridge at all. We want you to take this piece and refund our money. We have spent rs. 16139 (Which includes the price of the fridge and 2 years extended warranty) and have faced so many problems in less than 5 months. I contacted godrej several times for a replacement/refund but they want to again replace the thermostat and not issue any refund. This is the second time the fridge needs to be repaired by godrej technicians in a span of less than 6 months and this proves the product is defective. I want a replacement/refund as i don't trust this model anymore after it has shut down completely once and now as a defective thermostat.
