[Resolved]  Godrej Properties — Token amount refund

Hi,

My parents wanted to book an apartment at Godrej Rejuve and visited their sales office. In the beginning, we clearly mention that we are looking for a Carpet area (as per Rera) of min 700 sqft and our budget is X amount. At that time the salesperson told that the carpet area for so and so flat is 703 sq ft, based on that we went with it and paid booking amount. Later on when we came home and calculated the area and found out that the actual carpet area as per Rera is 606 sq ft and not 700 sq ft as was told to us.

We went back the next day immediately to clarify things and were told that the technical team will get back to me with the details to answer my query. They did not provide the details until 3 days when I decide to cancel it.

They shared the details later where the carpet area mentioned is 606 sq ft and not 700 sqft. They sold us the flat saying that it was a 703 sq ft carpet area. My parents are investing a lifetime of saving and felt cheated, so decided to cancel it finally.

Today we called to cancel then are arguing and telling us that it's a non-refundable token amount where this is not true and was not conveyed to us at the time of paying the amount.

No documents were signed by the primary applicant (My father).

Please close the complaint. I got a refund. I had gone to the Godrej Rejuve office as the salesperson (we talked initially) was not replying and not forwarding the superior's contact details even after asking again and again. I went to the office and yelled in front of other customers (the office was closed early and there was only security as the office closed early) The security guy called the supervisor and she was not ready to talk to us. The security told us to come back again later when everyone would be here. We left without any firm answers. To our surprise, the refund was processed within a couple of hours and it was in my bank account even though it was after office hours. Seems like Godrej's sales team just pushes customers until they break down and take drastic steps. I would suggest everyone who wants a refund directly go to the sales office and create a scene to get the refund, calling and emails won't do good as they just fall on deaf ears. Overall terrible experience and will never again go for Godrej Properties.

It's been 2 months and I haven't got the refund yet. The sales team agreed to give a refund and said that I will get the refund in 30 days. It's been 2 months and I haven't got the refund yet.

Please help me with this.

I forgot to mention it's the Token amount of Rs 1 lakhs and not the booking amount.
