I, Anjana Mohanan, am an account holder with your esteemed bank, holding Account Number: [protected]. I am writing to bring to your attention an issue regarding the deduction of AMB (Average Monthly Balance) charges from my account.
Recently, I noticed that my account has been debited with ₹708 per month due to non-maintenance of the required minimum balance. Upon reviewing my statements, I found that a total of approximately ₹14, 000 has been deducted over the past 20 months, from October 2023 to May 2025.
I was not aware that my account required maintaining a minimum balance of ₹25, 000. Upon realizing this, I contacted your online customer support team and requested a refund of these charges. However, I was informed that only the charges for the last six months (from December 2024 to May 2025) could be refunded, and the rest could not be considered.
Through this letter, I kindly request you to reconsider and refund the remaining AMB charges debited from October 2023 to November 2024, as I was unaware of the minimum balance requirement during that time. I believe a waiver for these charges would be fair given the circumstances.
Additionally, I would like to inform you that I have now opted to downgrade my account to one that requires an Average Monthly Balance of ₹5, 000. I will ensure that the required balance is maintained henceforth.
I request your kind support in processing the refund for the remaining period and confirming the downgrade of my account type.
