My father Mr. B. L. Choudhary had recently taken a loan from HDFC bank, the loan number is[protected] for which EMI was fixed at Rs. 12, 114/- per month. When he went to sign the papers at the branch he was made to sign a huge bundle.
The next month he got a call from one of the employees of the branch who was coordinating all the loan processing namely Mr. Manoj and he said that a service charge amount of 2168 will be debited separately as they miscalculated some amount and that its a one time thing.
After this my father did not get any messages. Recently he got the following 2 messages:
1. HDFC Ltd. installment of Rs. 12114 twds Ac 66xx809 with UMRN SBIN[protected] is being processed for ACH debit on 05-jan-22 from your bank account number 52xxx111. Please maintain sufficient funds in your account. If the account is not debited within 3-4 Bank working days, kindly contact HDFC Limited.
2. HDFC Ltd. installment of Rs. 2168 twds Ac 66xx74 with UMRN SBIN[protected] is being processed for ACH debit on 05-jan-22 from your bank account number 52xxx111. Please maintain sufficient funds in your account. If the account is not debited within 3-4 Bank working days, kindly contact HDFC Limited.
Upon inquiring, we found out that the 02nd instalment was going towards some insurance premium as a loan. We were shocked because my father was neither told about any such thing nor explained nor taken any consent regarding such a product. This is cheating by the team who fraudulently got his signatures on some papers without informing what it is for?
We requested the bank to unclub the 2 loans. How can two loans be clubbed in a single EMI? This is unfair. This is an attempt to mask the other Insurance which was converted into loan without asking without informing.
This is Fraud.
Now, for last 3 months the bank has been deducting penalty and not taking the EMI of the home loan even though an amount of Rs. 12, 114/- is in the account. The insurance was placed in the bunch of papers and signatures were taken surreptitiously. Why is the bank indulging into such fraudulent practice?
We have written many emails to HDFC but no result. Looks like they have dumb people who do not understand the issue or they are trained to act as if they do not understand this simple issue. No solution for last 90 odd days. Please help !
