[Resolved] HDFC Bank — close my negative balance amount in hdfc | |||
Hi, i have salary account in hdfc 3 years back when i was working at that time. I have resign my job. But my hdfc exsisted old salary account showing -10000 balance. The bank converts my salary account converted into savings account & charged monthly.. Now its 10000 negative balance. Without my permission how can the bank convert my salary account into savings account? Even they are not intimated verbally... According to rbi guidlines on savings account banks not charge even its negative balance. Plz juistice to me. 10000 is huge amount to me. What is the solution? How can i close the account plz suggest me. Im not working in present i cant bare 10000 plz suggest me. Was this information helpful? | |||

Verified Support Feb 18, 2019 HDFC Bank Customer Care's response Dear Customer, We wish to inform you that as per the terms and conditions applicable for salary account holders, if salary is not credited into the account for 3 consecutive months, the account will be converted from a zero balance salary account to a regular savings account. The special facilities offered on the Salary Account is pursuant to the arrangement between the employer / company and the Bank. These benefits are extended by virtue of your employment in the organization, on whose request the account is opened with the bank and subject to regular salary credit. We had observed that there were no salary credits in your account and under these circumstances the special benefits offered under the Corporate Salary Program were withdrawn. Hence, the requisite Average Monthly Balance of Rs. 10000.00 will need to be maintained in your account. In the absence of the same the applicable AMB non-maintenance charges will be levied in your account. In the event of no salary credits in the Salary Account for any continuous three months, the Bank reserves the right to change the status of Salary Account to Savings Regular Account without any intimation to the account holder/me and the Terms & Conditions as applicable to the HDFC Bank Savings Regular Account shall apply to this account from the date of change of status. The Terms & Conditions and features applicable to Savings Regular Account are published on the website of the Bank.
