I first came in contact with the bank branch with a request to close my account in Nov 2021 and have been asked to submit the closure forms in person. I live out of India and my account status was NRO (Non resident Ordinary account).
I have sent the physical forms so far 4 times and have been lost by the branch 1 time and returned back the post 3 times. All these forms have been submitted to the branch via email as well. Post covid, the couriers are not accepted at entrance of branch premises and also the courier service personnel are not allowed to enter the premises for delivery.
I have been in contact with branch officials for the last 1, 5 years hoping for co-operation on closing the accounts using the scanned copies being sent from authorized email address. But so far no luck; on top the branch started charging me quarterly for ISA account maintenance which has never been charged any maintenance fee from[protected].
