[Resolved]  HDFC Bank — credit card dispute

This is mohammed abid shaikh i do have salary account # [protected] and hdfc bank credit card # "[protected]" i do have many complaints related to this credit card. Since mar 2016 i was complaining related to monthly statement. I had complained that i am not getting sms alerts related to monthly statement. And i am not getting hardcopy of monthly statement. Consecutive six months complained for the same reason. Every months i was told that it will be resolved. I had checked with mobile service provider related to sms alert, but it is okay from their end. My complaint was not resolved by hdfc. Then i stop making the payment in the month of oct 2016. After getting calls from collection department in the month of dec 2016 i made a payment. I saw that i had been charged many unnecessary charges (Late payment fee, loan pre-closure charge and financial charges) in my monthly statements. I did have the loan on card, that loan was pre-closed by hdfc without informing me and i have been charged pre-closure charges also.

In the month of dec 2016 i spoke one of the customer service executive of hdfc, he told me that once i will make the minimum payment my card will be active and all the charges will be reversed. I had made the minimum payment my card got activated, but i did not get the reversal. I called again to hdfc customer service i spoke with floor supervisor "ranjit singh" he told me he will reverse the charges for late payment fee as well as the financial charges. He cannot reverse the charges for loan pre-closure. But i got only reversal of late payment fee, there was no request was taken for reversal of financial charges. Then i called again to hdfc customer service. I spoke with one of the executive of hdfc. She took the request for reversal of all financial charges, but i saw only partial charges got reversed. So i called again to hdfc customer service and spoke with different executive as well as supervisor. I had even spoken with floor manager "vishal thakur" everyone told me that they will take the request and amount will be reversed, but no request was taken and no reversal is done. And everyone at customer service told me that they will take the complaint, but no complaint was raised. Every time i got false commitment from hdfc customer service. Every time different executive and supervisor just gave the false promise. Every time person at the customer service said no complaint/request is raised, and now taking the new request/complaint. But nothing was done from customer service. I do have the recordings of all the calls, that i can share.

In the month of august 2017 my salary account with hdfc bank was blocked by hdfc itself. I had again done the follow up with hdfc bank jvlr branch. I had spoken with collection department of hdfc bank, they told me that my total outstanding is around 113000 rs and to do settlement i have to pay around 64000 rs. The supervisor of hdfc bank collection department told me that he will send the email to concern team and will inform me about exact ammount for the settlement. I was doing the follow up with them, but i did not get any reply from collection team. By the time from my account 34, 675.33 rs was auto debited by hdfc bank without informing me. Then i visited again to hdfc bank and asked them to do settlement. They arranged the call back from concern team. I received the call after five days and executive told me to pay more 72000 rs to do settlement. Earler when my outstanding was 113000rs they asked to me pay around 64000 rs for settlement, now outstanding is only 83000 rs so they are asking me to pay 72000 rs. And in 64000 rs my salary account was just blocked amount was not debited. After debiting 34, 675.33 they are asking me to pay more 72000 rs.

So i desided to close my hdfc bank salary account and i visited again to hdfc bank jvlr branch. They are not closing my account. First they said we will send the email to concern team and will close the account. After week i visited again to check whether i can close the account or not, they said did not get reply from concern team. They sent email again to another team, now they are saying they cannot close my account. Since, this is my salary account this account is not linked with credit card. But then to they are not closing my account.

Now, i am totally frustrated with hdfc bank. I want someone to look into this matter and do the needful. I want my complaints to get resolve.

The email which was sent to me is not proving the solution and resolving my complaints. It was just stated in email that Notification was sent to registered Mobile number. I want to repeat that I did not receive the SMS alert. My complaint was that only that you are saying Notification is being sent, but I'm not getting.

And regarding my second complaint, I did not receive any update on that. My second complaint is that I was told I will get the reversal of charges (Late Payment Charge, Financial Charges and Loan Pre-closure charges), but I did not get reversal.

Apart from the above complaints, now I do have another complaint:
In the month of August 2017 my Salary Account with HDFC Bank was blocked by HDFC itself. I had again done the follow up with HDFC Bank JVLR Branch.
