HDFC Bank — Credit card upgraded from Free to Paid without consent

Using HDFC Credit card for past 8 years, I was a happy customer till recently. My lifetime free Platinum card was upgraded to a paid Regalia card and that too without my consent. And now they are charging me Rs2850 as renewal fee. I have raised a complaint with HDFC Bank. Complaint number is [protected] and [protected]
