At first place, I was not willing to apply for the HDFC Card given their whims and fancy policies to approve/disapprove credit cards, but the sales person convinced me to apply for it as I have a postpaid number in my name and register the same with payzapp app. The verification was done in a very professional manner, the verification visited my office verified my salary slip with account manager of my company, I was confident of getting my card application approved. I got a message that your application is approved in principle and please check the application status after 48 hours, to my surprise the application was disapproved with no clear reason for rejection. The message read as follows : Thank you for your interest in HDFC Bank International Credit Card. We wish to inform you that your application has been considered in line with the Bank's internal credit policy (which is based on a combination of financial and related criteria and/or statistically determined scores to assess credit eligibility) and operating/credit processes ( which include a combination of verifications, credit bureau reports and document verifications). We regret to inform you that we are unable to approve your application as it does not meet the above mentioned internal criteria of the Bank. Please be assured that our inability to approve the credit card application does not reflect in anyway on your credit standing or your financial stability. We would be pleased to provide any other assistance/service that you may require. Thank you once again. Assuring you of our best attention at all times This is a computer generated letter and does not require signature. Please note that all credit card benefits/facilities including third party products as opted by you in the application will not be processed due to non-approval of your credit card application. Any financial/non- financial liability arising due to the same would not be borne by the Bank. What a #### response to my application ..! I also informed them the same, that I have bad score etc. But the guys at the bank told that this new card will be issued on the basis of my salary and not on my previous defaults. I confirmed with them again and they said it's not an issue.
Few days later a guy comes up to the place I work does verification and leaves and today I receive mail that my application is rejected. Firstly I never wanted your credit card, but your sales people insisted me to get it even after telling that I'm a defaulter.
Why do you force it to someone and then reject it.
