[Resolved] HDFC Bank — fake reward point redemption calls | |||
I received a call today from hdfc credit card department, stating that rewards point on my cards have expired and that i need to verify the visible cards details to them in my voice to process the redemption of expired reward points. I provided them the expiry date of my card and first 4 digits of credit card number. But she started asking me for complete 16 digits. When i objected, she said that she will transfer my call to the senior. Please let me know if this was a genuine call from hdfc or a fake one. Verified Support Feb 14, 2018 HDFC Bank Customer Care's response Dear Customer, We confirm that, the call received from the number mentioned in your post was not initiated from HDFC Bank. We wish to clarify that, HDFC Bank would never request customers to provide such/any sensitive information related to the card account (eg. card validity period, last transaction, net banking password, credit card PIN etc) through an e-mail / SMS / Call and request you to abstain from replying to such calls received. You may also lodge a complaint with Law Enforcement Authorities further investigation on receipt of such calls in future.
