[Resolved] HDFC Bank — harassment call from hdfc collection agency | |||
Mail sent on 14th jan Dear hdfc bank, To whomsoever it is concerned from your bank!! This is in regard to card no# 4854xxxxxx5211 owned by me, mamta poddar from last 10 years. I have always been a good customer of your bank since i owed this card. However, for last couple of months i am not in a positioin of making the payments on the above card. Though tried my best but its not posssible for me to make the regular payments on the account. Hence, decided to settle the balance on the account in order to avoid the infinte number of calls that i have been receiving on the daily basis. As i couldn't answer their calls in the weeks days due to my work timings, i expect to receive the calls on the weekend but no one is bothered to call me on saturday/sunday. Tried calling customer service department number of times to get this sorted but they are not helping me and asking me to get in touch with the collection department. When trying to reach the collections department their number doesn't seems to be working. Finally got a call from one of the collection agents and my husband discussed the whole situation explaining that the balance 2 lacs cannot be paid by us due to our financial conditions. Hence, want to settle the amount. However, the debt agency is not agreeing to the amount that we can afford to pay and is now harrassing me for last couple of days by paying regular visits to my home in order to collect the debt. I know i owe the amount but have made it very clear to the collection agents that i cannot afford to pay such a huge amount. Inspite of explaining again and again they are visiting my premises and harrassing that if dues are not cleared the matter will be further dealt legally. Though don't know much but is aware of the fact that as per the orders of the supreme cout & rbi the collector can contact the borrower via calls and letters but cannot visit their premises for collectrion. Things can be sorted mutually but the borrower cannot be harassed/forced to pay the debt if not in a position to pay. Want to bring it to your attention that its not that i don't want to pay the dues but can pay only what i can afford and therefore want these visits to be stopped asap. Request you to consider my complaint and make arrangements to stop these visits by the collection agents else, have to take the matter in the law of court/social media for the wrong practise attempted by your collection team. Hope my request will be considered and if the bank really want to collect the funds from me, should contact me via telephone and lets discuss and settle this off mutually. Rao, aditya. Puri, grievance. Redressal Team, No update received on this till date, now your collection agency has started harassing us by calling our relatives and friends. Thank you so much for showing your true colour and wrong practise. This is already recorded for legal purpose and i will claim from you legally in any law of court. Your collection agent archana called my sister and harassed her saying if you do not pay we will kill you. Let's take this legally now. I ask HDFC managment to take all necessary action and if this is not stopped i will publish all the audio to social media and consumer FORUM. I am ready to settle the due but to my limit but pressurising like this would not make any difference.
If this continues I will not pay anything to HDFC bank.
