HDFC Bank — Harassment, Unfair and immoral practices by HDFC bank credit card department and collection agency

I am holding a credit card of HDFC bank since 10 years (Card No.[protected]). I was working as an asst. manager in a School and was earning well then. I maintained a very good payment record. Due to some personal reasons I had to leave my job and since then I have been left jobless. Meanwhile I kept getting calls from collection agencies to pay amount. I obliged them for first 2-3 months. I had no source of income and facing financial crunch and not able to make the payments on time; still I have made the payment bimonthly. Last month the collection executive (Mr. Rajesh) came to my home when I was not present and called me I responded to his call and told that I am not at home and I can meet at Moosapet, but his response was very rude and started saying that you have a house na why I should come and meet you there, I am not your servant and disconnected the call. But they are not at all listening to me and they are calling my family members, treating them with disrespect and threatening my family members also. Since that time the collection executive is not calling me and directly going to my home and speaks very rudely and insisting my father & wife to pay the money. Yesterday the collection executive (Mr. Rajesh) came to my home around 7.30pm; I have been sincerely requesting him to give some more time or EMI option or settlement and but his response was very rude and starting saying to me and my wife that today at any cost I want the money and I will not go from here until I get the money. Then he called his manager I told him the same, but the response from his side was disrespect and treating like. Actually, who gave the right for them to disclose my financial matters to my family members and this is why are they threatening them to make the payments? My family or friends are not involved in any way with this and I'm the sole responsibility for the payments. Does HDFC collection executive have right to lie and give false commitments to sort out the customer issues? Does HDFC bank have authority to abuse and threaten people to collect the money? Does HDFC bank have authority to transfer the money which is in my HDFC savings account? Now I have had enough of it. Bank should take note of the fact that I had a very good payment history for 10 years so. It seems like there is no way out. I have already paid a huge interest to the bank. Even if the bank wants to settle the amount pending against me all the money that I had paid till date, should be considered. And please stop this mental harassment to my family members as it is not their fault and they are not my legal guarantees. I'm ready to make the payments after two months once I'm settled down or else I'm ready to make a settlement on my card. But I need all my transaction history before I commit and also the letters with all the terms and conditions of settlement sent to my email. They have been rude, unprofessional and impolite with me and my family. Thanks and regards A. Anil Kumar
