HDFC Bank — HDFC Bank blocked my Debit Card without any prior intimation

HDFC Bank, GK2, New Delhi blocked my Debit Card without prior intimation on Saturday, 11 April 2015 thus causing me immense inconvenience and harrassment. I was having urgent financial commitments to meet but I could not fulfill them because the HDFC branches had closed and the following day was Sunday. During my conversation with the Phone Banking personnel on Saturday as well as Sunday, I was told that as per new RBI guidelines, any card without a chip would not work any more. Neither did HDFC ever notify me of this new guideline nor did they inform me that they were going to block my card! I would request you to kindly pull up HDFC for this major lapse on their part that has put me at much inconvenience and has also created an image loss for me. My HDFC S/B A/C number is [protected].
