HDFC Bank — hdfc salary account in negative | |||
Hi, i have salary account in hdfc 1 year back when i was working at that time. After that i changed company & they provided other bank account. But now my oldhdfc exsisted old salary account showing -2000 balance. The bank converts my salary account converted into savings account & charged monthly.. Now its 2000 negative balance. Without my permission how can the bank convert my salary account into savings account? Even they are not intimated verbally... According to rbi guidlines on savings account banks not charge even its negative balance. I approach branch, but they behaved rudly & refuse to close account. Plz juistice to me. 2000 is huge amount to me. What is the solution? What is the action will take against this bank Was this information helpful? | |||

Verified Support Nov 06, 2019 HDFC Bank Customer Care's response Dear Customer, Average Monthly Balance is calculated out at the end of the month. This is the average of the closing credit balance in the Account at the end of each day during the calendar month (i.e. a total of the daily closing credit balance divided by the total number of days during the month). In case this average is less than the minimum prescribed for your account, the charges for non-maintenance will be levied at the beginning of the following month along with the GST at the applicable rates. According to RBI GUIDELINES no bank can charge non maintenance charge after the balance reaches zero. What you hdfc bank is doing is illegal return my current balance to zero or else i have to report you to rbi
