[Resolved] HDFC Bank — money deducted two times

I have a salary account in hdfc bank. Two SIPs of 2000 each is deducted every month from my account. For 5-6 hours, there was no balance in my account and at that time the attempt to deduct sip was made. Now I have been charged 590+590 Rs. which is totally unfair. Please submit my complaint to hdfc bank. If the issue is not resolved, I would have to dwitch bank for salary account.

HDFC Bank Customer Care's response Dear Customer,

In terms of Clearing guidelines, issued by RBI, the clear fund's balance available in the account at the beginning of the day would be considered for the purpose of ECS(s) received in the clearing. We note that in your said account, the clear fund's balance at the time of presentation of the said ECS(s), was not sufficient to cover the ECS(s) received in the clearing. Therefore the ECS(s) was returned due to insufficient funds and the corresponding charges for ECS(s) dishonor were levied to your account. Kindly note that these charges attract GST as applicable. We advise you to maintain sufficient clear funds balance in the account in the future, at the time of issuance of the ECS(s), to avoid the ECS(s) return charges being levied to your account.
