[Resolved]  HDFC Bank — Programme management fee

I noticed that hdfc bank has charged programme management fees to my savings account when my account even does not match the given criteria for being treated as a preferred customer. Further, they have sent no notification to me for upgrading me as their preferred customer. And when i asked them about degrading the status of my account, they say i have to visit the nearest branch for the same. I am calling their rm for last few days & yet no response. The bank has just ended up causing me inconvenience.
They have also been charging me for the neft transactions i do. If am a preferred customer & they charge me for the same, then why do they charge for my neft transactions too. Am very disappointed with the services of hdfc bank, especially for their poor customer support after raising a complaint. When i try to trace my complaint status with the reference number they had given me, it says that my reference number cannot be traced & i have to reach a nearest branch.
Am going to close my account with this bank as they simply focus on charging me fees for which i am not entitled to pay. And also am planning to file a complaint with the rbi regarding the same.

Am very pleased and satisfied with the response of the HDFC Bank & their Customer Support. I mailed to the email address given in this forum and also raised a complaint in their official website. I got response within reasonable time (within 72 hours). Mr. Nilesh Gawde, explained me the details of the charge & also accepted my request to reverse the charges. I also got a call from the Bank intimating me about the reversal of these charges. My sincere thanks to the Customer Support of the Bank.
HDFC Bank customer support has been notified about the posted complaint.

HDFC Bank Programme Management Fee.

I am having a regular saving account with HDFC Bank. To my utter surprise I can see that the HDFC bank has deducted Rs. 114.5 from my account under the name- Program management fee. What is this fee about? What is the program the bank is offering? The bank did not notify me earlier about any such fees. I did not opt for any service, hence to deduct customer's money without taking their concent is unlawful. I want this so called fee deposited back to my account forthwith with compensation as they failed to give proper reply to my phone call made to them seeking explanation.
When called and informed about this to customer care service, they disconnected the call.

As a privileged customer, you are entitled to a host of exclusive privileges like discount on locker charges, preferential pricing on loans and cards, dedicated Relationship Manager, unlimited free usage of domestic ATMs and many others.
A nominal charge of Rs. 100.00 plus taxes per quarter, per customer is being introduced as a Programme Management Fee, for Savings and Current Account holders which is applicable from Jan'16 and will be levied to your account in Mar'16. Kindly provide us your account details or registered contact details so that we can reach out to you. Alternately you can write to us at [protected]@hdfcbank.com or contact your Relationship manager for any more information on the same.

Hi Anay,

Just to inform you the Relationship Manager that you have mentioned in your mail has not picked up the call when tried and after several attempts her associate received the call and assured me of conveying her my message and arrange a callback for me. As of yet none from your dedicated Relationship manager, Nitha, cared to clarify my concerned query over phone. No SERVICES as mentioned by you have been availed by me during my 4 long years of sweet association with you.

It is also clear from your reply mail that you have deliberately EVADED my points raised before you point-wise as to why I was not intimated beforehand when all contacts details were there with you? Why you have not followed the protocol before debiting/deducting the amount from my account and whether I am interested to go forward with these changes or status of the account.

I am NOT satisfied with your reply and SERVICES and would like to approach proper/competent/appropriate FORUM for compensation, if required, if you don't refund back my money debited which was arbitrarily and unlawfully deducted by you in the pretext of CLASSIC CUSTOMER.

I would therefore urge you to settle my account with you by refunding my monies unlawfully deducted by you and degrade my status from so called CLASSIC CUSTOMER to ordinary customer and let me know the procedure to close my account with you forthwith as I have several fixed deposits with you.

Thanks a lot for your arbitrary action without customers' consent for upgrading ordinary customers to CLASSIC CUSTOMERS and then in the NAME OF SERVICE deducting/debiting monies from us.
